I'd also like more American Kamen Rider adaptations in the vein of Dragon Knight.

Saban's actually trying to. It's called Power Rider IIRC.

Though I myself came up with two different ideas. One is an American adaptation of KR Decade, but also elements from all the KR series it touched upon (555, Ryuki, et al). Another is a film trilogy consisting of American reboots of KR The First, but also combining elements of the manga and original series with original concepts, and KR The Next. And the third film would essentially be my the definite final entry.

I'd love to see a new Star Trek series, more than anything. It's been too long since Enterprise was cancelled, and the movies more than prove there is still plenty of life left in the franchise.

I myself came up with a basic concept for a teen-oriented Starfleet Academy show, which would try to court the 13-18 market while still appealing to long-time fans.

It'd also spinoff into a few series. One's a typical ST series, a la TOS, TNG and Voyager. The second's a medical drama set in the ST universe. And the third is a crime/legal procedural, combining Law and Order, CSI and your standar lawyer show.

If the comics are any indicator, a Starfleet Academy series would bomb, big time.

Out of the cartoons running at that time, you choose those? Those were quite cheesy. Yet running around the same time are greats such as TMNT, Ghostbusters, X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, Gargoyles, Dragonball Z, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, etc.

I was actually more shocked by Retrodude saying that the Battlestar Galactica reboot sucked. He has some odd opinions

If the comics are any indicator, a Starfleet Academy series would bomb, big time.

Well, I never read the comics.

I did, however, come up with a general idea of an alien race called the Golemites. As their name suggest, which is a portmanteau of "golem" (an animated clay effigy) and "dolemite", they're a race of rock-like beings. Ironically, their skin, among other things, are really more like our skin, albeit if our skin was gray, craggy and as hard as it is dense. And don't expect any biracial action if a Golemite's involved. Their genitals have seen to that.

And I'm putting this in a spoiler tag, but there'a Vulcan character who somewhere down the line:

finds out that he's half-Klingon, essentially making him the only Vulcan/Klingon hybrid. Naturally this makes his life difficult, especially since there never was any other indication of his half-Klingon nature, though after a lot of events I won't go into, he embraces both sides of himself, which because of the nature of said events, is now apparent in his now equally Vulcanoid/Klingonese appearance.

And if you have anything to say on the subject of this character, put it in spoiler tags. I did that for a reason, a reason which ironically should translate more into not saying a damn thing about it.

All in the Family. It would be funny to see what kind of ruckus a show like that would create in today's PC environment. Though the straw man that is Archie Bunker worked in the 1970s, but given how attitudes have changed since then, a character like that would be inane in a modern TV show.

MTV's Downtown. One of the best western animated TV shows. It's extraordinary how a a slice of lifeish show like that can be so intresting and unique, but I guess it's the writing, intresting characters and the somewhat surreal artstyle and dark mood.

Wait. What? Were you being serious? Or kidding? Gargoyles is one of the best animated programs of all time. Well, except for its final season, which felt like a different show by a different creative team. Gargoyles is still one of the standards by which I judge other American, animated programs. Those other shows are good too, at least for their time anyway.

I always viewed Al Bundy as a watered down version of Archie Bunker. He was a cranky old guy, and though he didn't say a lot racist stuff, he still had plenty of offensive things to say about women

I don't know. I don't think quality older shows need reboots but I'm not sure re-adapting older ideas is a surefire recipe for success.

I can see this as a live-action/animated show using various forms of animation, a la The Amazing World of Gumball.



Basically a film series that would be like "Monsters Inc" for older kids and possibly teens.

MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF TIR NA NOG

The original was Saban's first attempt at an original PR-style show, in lieu of adapting a Japanese series.

The show was loosely adapted from the Ulster Cycle. It followed four (later five) young people as they use mystic powers to defend their kingdom (well, technically only three of the Mystic Knights were from the kingdom, while the other two were princes from other kingdoms) from Queen Maeve, who sees ruling it as her birthright.

The show ended with an open ending, since there was going to be a spinoff/second season, but the show was cancelled and the next season's budget was funnelled into the next Power Rangers spinoff, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

I kinda see this as a primetime series on CWTV with repeats airing on TeenNick. Basically, it'd be in the vein of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, but for a teen audience without alienating preteen and adult viewers.
