OUYA: Open Source Console - Kickstarted in 1 Day
Re: OUYA: Open Source Console - Kickstarted in 1 Day
Kickstarter backer here, and nothing here yet. I'm not too concerned, though. People are getting theirs, and I don't have the need to have one ASAP.

They just started shipping the LE Backers their units so mine should be shipped out shortly.

Aren't these just beta units anyway? From the reviews I've read, they're pretty bare bones for the time being.o.pwuaioc wrote:Kickstarter backer here, and nothing here yet. I'm not too concerned, though. People are getting theirs, and I don't have the need to have one ASAP.

I think they're terming it "early access", but effectively, yeah.Ack wrote: Aren't these just beta units anyway? From the reviews I've read, they're pretty bare bones for the time being.
For the most part it'd just be software updates though. Offhand, the updates have mentioned tweaking the controller battery port covers (more magnets), but otherwise I think the dev units were more the beta hardware.

Yeah. The hardware is 100% cooked according to interviews. It's the software that's unfinished.
Hopefully they're rolling out updates quickly because from what I've seen in videos... I'm not terribly impressed.

Re: OUYA: Open Source Console - Kickstarted in 1 Day
The good news is that i just got an email confirmation that my Ouya will be shipping shortly! The bad news is that when I ordered my Ouya, I assumed it would ship sometime before May, while I was still in school, so I used my college address. Thus, I'll have to wait an extra week for it to get sent back home. :S
Re: OUYA: Open Source Console - Kickstarted in 1 Day
Still waiting.... But I'm patient, I guess. I mean I did just get a 3DS to keep me busy
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

Mine shipped. I will be selling it brand new though. Don't really want it anymore.

Erik - is there anything coded towards your machine being tied to your OUYA ID? i'm contemplating selling mine also. Got the note late last week that it was shipping.

I doubt it. But who knows? Guess that is something to look into before I throw it up for sale.retrosportsgamer wrote:Erik - is there anything coded towards your machine being tied to your OUYA ID? i'm contemplating selling mine also. Got the note late last week that it was shipping.
