What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Thanks!

Yeah, Denver is definitely in the middle of a boom right now. Great if you're selling, much tougher if you're buying. Like I said above, some houses I've looked at in the past couple of weeks and been interested in buying went under contract before I even got a sniff. Its crazy.

On the plus side though, going under contract here will make things smoother for me on the buying end. I was concerned about making offers of my own that were contingent on selling my place. No longer an issue. So you're right, it really is a load off my mind in many ways.

Another nice thing is that I'm very happy with my asking price. This house was bank owned when I bought it, and at the time the market was still recovering from having tanked. To put it plainly, I got a screaming deal, so at the price I'm selling at I'm coming out smelling like a rose. Its all just fortunate timing when you get down to it, but I'm not complaining.

On that note, we probably could have gone higher, but as you said, its (all but) sold with no trouble, and I have peace. This couldn't have possibly gone better.

He also only showed me part of the gym, and just started telling me to do the workouts. When I asked for an explanation he just acted like I was wasting his time. I ended up just reading the stickers on the equipment before working out. I have a friend who is a personal trainer, so I'm talking to her about my fitness goals and such. Funny how she and you have been far more helpful on the internet through text than this guy in person.
The vast majority of "personal trainers" are useless. Most of them are in an easy job that they use to slide through their first 1-3 years of school. They think they know everything, but few of them have any practical knowledge they can use to actually help a particular person with their fitness goals.

One of the biggest scams around, I'm glad you found out before actually putting money in their pocket.
I agree. The quality of PTs varies wildly. In general, you should seek out the older ones who are making a career out of it than the kids who are just getting paid to hang out in the gym. Regardless, you should "shop around" until you find someone you like. Good luck!
Don't laugh, but I go to Planet Fitness. The guy was really young, so I'm sure he was still in school. The girl I talk to now was a trainer for a few years, and isn't charging me for advice at all. I've got a good routine down, and I'm trying to stick to it.

On another note:

:( My kid decided to stay up late again, which is partly my fault, but his means I can't sleep in tomorrow.

:) She is dressing herself kinda, and put her shoes on and went to the door saying "Bye Bye Daddy?". Jinx left for work about an hour ago, and she wants to go see him.

Another D'awww:
Last night she woke up and asked for her Daddy, and he was at work. She came into the living room, took his blanket, and went back to bed with it and slept the rest of the night. She is starting to turn into a Daddy's girl. Not too sure how I feel about that. XD
I'm here for your body.

Broke a server at work.
This was bad enough that a group of people gathered around where I was sitting to see what was going on. I got really claustrophobic and felt like i was going to bust into tears. It wasn't really my fault, and the guy fixing it agrees. The customer did some crazy custom crap and when I was following procedure, it broke several of the services. No lost data, and I made sure to take a backup anyway. Our procedures are broken, and nobody here really follows them. Without proper knowledge, or being social with other admins, I'll never learn the "correct" ways of handling this kind of stuff.
One more reason to fire me...

:(
I'm really digging deep into savings this month. If I get fired now, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I've never had a job that pays this much, and probably never will again. If I screw this up, I doubt I'll ever get another Systems Administration job...

:?
All the games I don't want are pretty much worthless. Going to put them up in my B/S/T thread anyway, but I doubt I'll ever get rid of them. Meh...

Heh, I know how that goes. Honestly, unless you can get someone who wants them all in one big lot, it's not really worth the time and effort you'll have to put into shipping them out, listing them, keeping track of who's getting what, etc.

There's also always the possibility of just dragging them up to a nearby retro shop or something and at least getting a couple of bucks that way. You won't get what they're worth naturally, but if you just want to get rid of them and make a bit of money back it's something worth considering.

Personally, I've just held onto most of my 'crappy/worthless' games.

I've considered doing this and getting in-store credit. Sometimes I find gems at their store for a decent price. Things like Four Swords Adventures and DDR: Mario Remix were MUCH cheaper than they go for online.

Odds are I'll end up keeping them. I'm a bit of a pack-rat anyway.

Also, having crappy cartridges in good condition lying around is nice if you need to swap cartridge backs or something.

:x
The server we were having issues with wasn't even related to anything I did. It wasn't even the same damn server. The person who reported the problem is a fucking idiot, and I just spent the entire night worried, stressed out, and humiliated for nothing...

:D
I didn't do anything wrong.

Yeah it can be really hit or miss. Normally you have to hope they mislabeled something to get a good deal. some of the higher end stuff can often be priced near online as well. Whereas cheaper stuff and mario/zelda stuff is ofte very inflated.

I found a Contra Force for $50 at one and Hobie grabbed a rare GB manual for $1. I also picked up a model 1 sega cd for $50 which I liked as there is a potential for damage in shipping with that one. No steals, but at least reasonable prices.

Looking right.

And a pic so nice I had to post it twice. I made potstickers a few days ago, stacked all the ingredients so my wife would come home to something interesting, and my pup Ripley provided a great photobomb.

:x : 4 out of my six college classes have finals today.

:P: Had to write a 15 page poetic portfolio. Without my notebook. Professor took it up a week before portfolios were due and wouldn't return them to students so no notes, no revised papers, or work shopped poems other then what you saved to your computer :P. Also we are meeting up in a bar to turn them in and do some readings :P. It's going to be really awkward too since half the class is going early so they can get drunk :P, there are multiple students who spammed threatening emails to the teacher about our notebooks, and I am one of the only straight guy in the class :X.

:x : The damn Pokemon theme song is stuck in my head for some unknown reason.
