sony kv-20xbr rgb multi input port question
sony kv-20xbr rgb multi input port question
I recently acquired a sony monitor with the model number kv-20xbr with intention of hookup several consoles via rgb. unfortunate I can't find any info on the 34-pin "rgb multi input". I think this might work and then I could just buy a bnc to scart adapter.

Re: sony kv-20xbr rgb multi input port question
Here is the manual for your TV: http://www.docs.sony.com/release/KV20XBR.PDF
It lists the part number for the cable to connect to that port as SMK-0001. The 34 pin connector is apparently called a PX-34.
Upon further internet sleuthing, I found one completed eBay auction for said cable here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-SONY- ... 7675.l2557
At the very least it has some nice pictures so you can see what it looks like.
This cable will likely be very hard to find and if you do find it, it probably won't be cheap. You may be better off soldering a female SCART socket to directly to the pins. The pinout is found on the next to last page of the manual.

Re: sony kv-20xbr rgb multi input port question
thank you. talk about stepping into totally new territory. I've never tried anything like this. would be it be hard? it seams like you'd just have to connect the correct scart pin to the px-34 pin. and an even more important question are there any guides?
Re: sony kv-20xbr rgb multi input port question
I found a few forum posts from people that have attempted similar projects without much luck. At this point I definitely would not recommend that a novice attempt making such a cable.
It might be worth contacting Retrogamingcables.com to see if they can make it. Essentially you want something like this but with the PX-34 connector instead of a DB25. And based off other forum posts that I read from people attempting to make this, it would also be a good idea to wire in a LM1881 sync stripper as well - they will know what that is because they include it in another one of their products.
If Retrogamingcables.com can't (or won't) make it, then you might want to try asking Retro Accessories http://www.retro-access.com/contactus.html I have purchased stuff from her eBay store and it is top notch work. She may also be willing to make a custom cable.
