1-slot neo boards are straight JAMMA, 2-4-6 are not iirc, not sure if you can straight swap a 1-slot into a 2-slot setup, you maybe can w/a neo-->jamma adapter, just research that part first. Worst case scenario you have to spend an extra $20 to get a 2-slot instead, but i've seen plenty of damaged 1 and 2 slots rejuvenated from leaky batteries on the neo boards. Keep us posted.

Some 2 slots are JAMMA, but most are MVS. Because your board has controller hookups, Id wager that it is MVS. If you go with a 1 slot board I highly recommend getting one of these bad boys:

Then you can plug in whatever JAMMA boards support your control scheme, like a Sega Titan Video or a JAMMA Dreamcast. I thought about a Dreamcast for a long time, so I could play Soul Calibur in my 4 Slot

SO I got the board cleaned up nicely, put it back in the cab and got the backup ram error b240 code. I have been reading up all night and it seems that it is beyond my scope of repair, and I might just have to get a new board. Oh well, I knew the risk when I got the cab, and kind of factored this into the possible price. If I end up with another 100 bucks into it, its not the end of the world.

Hopefully I can recoup a few bucks selling the broken 2 slot to soften the blow. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.

You should be able to get $30 range for the 2-slot, maybe $40.

I have a contact who repairs and then consolizes 2-slots - I can reach out to him if you like.

So after admitting defeat in getting my 2 slot to work, I have decided to go all out in restoring the cab the best I can since I will have to wait a little bit to get a new board. I have broken down the cab quite a bit, and have started repainting parts already. I think I will make a separate thread to document it, as to not clutter up this one. I plan on repainting the whole cab, and getting reproduction decals for the sides. I also found out that it seems that Sanwa buttons will fit in the control panel, I test fitted one since its apart. I thought I had read that the holes were 28mm and would not fit 30mm without widening the holes. I need to figure out what to do with the joysticks, I really dislike American style sticks, but if I could get a square gate into it maybe it would be ok, the circle gate with no corners or anything kills me.

I've seen 30mm buttons banged into an MVS CP with a rubber mallet, but I don't think they will "just fit" without quite a bit of effort getting them in (and subsequently out again)

I've also read that you can drop in a Sanwa JLF by simply using a JLW mounting plate. You might want to get a longer shaft or bat top if you're going to go that route, though.

The button I tested was a standard 30mm Sanwa clone and it dropped right in. I will check with real Sanwa tomorrow. I will also start the restoration thread as well.

Snap in Sanwas will go in - it should take some mild force, but they will go in w/o cutting. Getting them out may be trickier. If you have it apart i'd suggest widening to 30mm since you'll most likely always have 30mm buttons in there from now on anyways.

Well you gotta start somewhere! I just bought this today.

I actually went to the store looking for a system, and while they had a few, they were new in box for 100 bucks. Nice, but more than I wanted to spend.

What I really want to get is a UK copy of Sonic Pocket Adventure in the snap case. I was bidding on one through ebay at a great price, but I stupidly (completely idiotic in fact) forgot about it and lost it.

Oh well. I'll keep looking.
