Like make him a rich guy with a thing for bats?
I will make no comment on the depth of other, beloved comic book characters...
That said, "pissed off guy with lots of guns who, for some reason, really, really likes bats" is still more interesting than just "pissed off guy with lots of guns".

I know a silent black and white movie isn't what people are dying to see, but you owe yourself to watch it at least once. So many messages that still hold up today. Also the leading lady (I can't remember her name) is absolutely beautiful. What a smile.
If you liked that, you should see The Gold Rush, another Chaplain classic. The General with Buster Keaton is also good.
I will second both of these films. The Gold Rush remains my favorite Chaplin film, and The General is just insanely good. To me at least, it is like a silent-era, black-and-white Jackie Chan action film. The stunts are simply breathtaking.
An OK technothriller, despite some goofs and even silly bits.
I have always wondered if this was a decent film. Would you recommend checking it out?
The thing is this sub-genre has been done better and with bigger budgets, but I suppose there are worse things to do with one's free time. I'd give it 3.5/5
Jack Reacher
Better than expected, but still has major flaws. I also struggled to place cookie-cutter blonde Rosamund Pike. Hollywood knows their archetypes I guess.
Amazing. IMO, the best of Marvel's movies. I don't know what else to say. Still high from watching it 12 hours ago. The rest of the summer lineup has its work cut out for it. I'm not even sure Kick-Ass 2 will dethrone it for me.

I was going to go with City Lights next but I will go with Gold Rush based on your guys suggestions. I'm buying these one at a time on DVD since they don't offer them on vudu the only service I really use. I noticed Netflix has most of his shorts so I'm currently watching those.
Is the biopic featuring Robert Downing Jr any good? Hard to imagine him in such a role after watching the Iron Man movies and Due Date.....

I hope to go see this next week. Glad to hear its living up to those trailers!
Sadly, I don't think they've ever really explored Frank Castle's psyche too much in the Punisher flicks ... if they did, they'd be NC-17 ... but I do think that War Zone had the best Punisher ... even if it's not the best Punisher movie. And ... at the very least, there was no naked sewer meditation ... so ... there's that.
I'm sure I'm alone in this place, but I really liked Spirits of Vengeance ... Nicholas Cage withstanding. I think it probably would have been better if they could have cut loose, but they have to stick to a PG-13 rating. But the plot is much less pretentious than half the comics, the movie flowed fine, most of the characters have charisma and are likable ... Nicholas Cage is awful ... like always ... but what do you expect, they can't all be Adaptation.
I'm going to see Iron Man 3 in IMAX tomorrow ... after hitting up TFAW for FCBD. Avoiding trailers was about as easy as negotiating peace with the Klingon Empire.
You're not alone. I liked Spirit Of Vengeance too. Instead of being an accidental B-movie like Punisher War Zone or The Spirit, it seemed like Spirit Of Vengeance did it on purpose in the same way that Grindhouse did. In this case, I think it worked in the film's favor. I may be in the minority here, but I think Nic Cage is at his best when he's hamming it up because you can tell he's having fun. Sadly, it seems we won't be getting a Ghost Rider 3. I read an interview with Cage recently that said he'd like to do another one, but he feels it's time to move on and do other stuff. Bummer.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.
