While I would have loved for it to be in a more modern engine, this just proves that Duke fans are as crazy as Descent fans.

Admittedly though, I think Duke fans have a good reason to be crazy. A decade went by, only to result in a game where I play with vibrators and throw feces while using a system heavily influenced by a decade of FPS, and not the best influences either.

I for one welcome my new old school Duke FPS.

That's hilariously amazing.

I was really hoping Forever was going to include the multitude of builds playable in some form as extras or something. Would be cool if some developer did that someday, with games that have very long production cycles.

I didn't think Forever was that bad. I will agree that the humor was pretty piss poor. I didn't know you can throw the shit at first, but when I saw it... I did a little inside. Let's hope this doesn't disappoint.

Man, Duke Nukem Forever would've been a perfect title to implement such a feature. I'd imagine that the previous builds were completely scrapped though.

I enjoyed it. Yes it was crass, but that's Duke. He's a product of an era, like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Silvester Stalone. If you're going into Duke expecting high brow humour and clever writing you've bought the wrong ticket. It's like going into The Expendables and expecting clever writing and thought provoking character interactions. You're doing it wrong.

Man I wish the Leisure Suit Larry remake addressed feminist concerns and gender equality... This game totally sucks...

My girlfriend liked the humor in Forever more than I did I think (though she tends to like really over-the-top campy things). I always felt that if you're offended by Duke Nukem you're missing the joke. He's a walking parody of the macho American hero.

It's not the humor that upset me in DNF though. The game itself was just kind of boring and the gimmicky segments when you weren't shooting (getting shrunk, driving vehicles, etc.) were usually more frustrating than fun.
