All of us, for keeping this thread going. That's okay, though, cause there's been some pretty interesting discussions.AppleQueso wrote:Oh dear, who's responsible for this?ExedExes wrote:#UnpopularGamingOpinions is trending on Twitter right now, so if you all want to see what we inspired over there
Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?

I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

I admittedly don't like looking back on Donkey Kong 64 myself. I probably mentioned this once but it's just a weird trigger for me, like I played most of the game over a weekend with a high fever or something... simply thinking of the game makes me nauseous, lol.
Banjo Kazooie kind of did that to me too. I don't get this vibe when I go back and replay Mario 64 or the Zelda's, but Rare had a tendency to have a lot of claustrophobic level design with tons of caves and small areas in some of their N64 stuff, I think that's what makes me sick thinking about it.
Not so much with Banjo Tooie though, which had massive and more open environments. Never beat that one though, that game and DK64 were freaking huge.

No, it was entirely the controls. I hate the controls in Diddy Kong Racing. And as a result, I grew to dislike everything else. Especially the hovercraft.AppleQueso wrote:Is it the "rareware"ness?Ack wrote:I hate Diddy Kong Racing.

Are you sure it isn't the DK rap? It has been known to induce vomiting, and I keep a copy of the game next to a bottle of ipecac in case on of my children accidentally ingests poison.Xeogred wrote:I admittedly don't like looking back on Donkey Kong 64 myself. Never had any issues with the controls at all? In fact, I've never heard of anyone else having issues with them either...
I mean, you know, definitely not the first I've heard of people not liking the game, but it seems to usually be for different reasons.
...interesting.

(not having beaten it yet), Final Fantasy XII is one of the best in the series. It is the only FF game after the PS1 era that I like. And I don't get why the game gets flack from some gamers, when everyone loved FF X which was mediocre imo.

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Here's a few music related unpopular opinions:
- I think Dr. Wily's Theme from Mega Man 2 is among the most overrated NES songs of all time. I don't even have MM2 but I've heard it enough to never want to hear it again for a long time. The Moon theme from Duck Tales is pretty high up there too.
- Gemini Man's theme from MM3 is one of, if not the best MM songs in the entire classic MM catalog.
- You know the version of Guile's Theme from the "Guile's Theme goes with everything" meme (the one from the arcade SSFII Turbo)? I HATE THAT VERSION SO MUCH! I can't believe THAT version is the one associated with the meme. Should have been the SNES version from World Warrior/Turbo. I'd take the Champion Edition version from the Genesis over the arcade SSFII Turbo version. I'd even take the Game Boy version.

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
This happened to me too, back when my GB was my only gaming device. I owned 2 games, both of which I had cleared multiple times, so I relied on rentals to see what cool games were out there. I happened to rent Final Fantasy Legends, knowing nothing about FF at the time, and the entire time I had it, I was very ill. Having no experience with RPGs, I was already a little confused by the game, but being sick made me just hate it, and it actually made me think that all FF games were like this, and thus all sucked.Xeogred wrote:I admittedly don't like looking back on Donkey Kong 64 myself. Now that I can appreciate the FF games, and even early SaGa games (FFL3 is epic), everything about FFL makes me sick to my stomach.
