Over the past week, I have installed Windows 8 on two of my laptops. Yes, it's a little disorienting at first but so far, I like it. I will do my desktop & HTPC upgrades next week.

Business that have refuse to switch is the bulk of that. My company just started transitioning to 7 last year.CRTGAMER wrote:Love how the graph shows a high amount of XP users!

They have a mixture of PCs and Macs at the library. They have 8 out of maybe 100+ computers running window 8 just to let people try it out and I hardly ever see anyone on them. Plus unless all the other computers on the lower level are swamped they never get used. The interface is horrible especially without a touch monitor and classic mode doesn't work as well as the windows 7 desktop. This is definitely an OS I will be skipping.

Schools too. The school where I teach still uses Windows XP, although where I'm getting my PhD uses Windows 7.fastbilly1 wrote:Business that have refuse to switch is the bulk of that. No doubt. I still have a dozen XP Pro licenses I can use so I will not be getting rid of XP anytime soon. But if the box can run 7 well, there is no reason to put XP on it anymore.AppleQueso wrote:Those and stubborn/lazy users like myself.fastbilly1 wrote:Business that have refuse to switch is the bulk of that. I hate going back to XP myself, have never had issues with Win7 over the last few years. It was painful having to use my emergency XP laptop after my other desktop failed recently, lol.
And yeah when I was building a new rig 8 wasn't even a consideration for me.
