Awesome, completed game before the end of the month. Beat it moments ago after an aggravating hour or so fighting Nihilath. Saved during his death throes so I was easily able to see the results of either choice offered by G-man.

I dug this game so much that I might go right into playing Half-Life 2. I hope it's as good as the original, if not there's always the expansion stuff I guess.

Also, I abandoned the mouse halfway through the game. The trackpad on my laptop worked out fine.

Well I just beat my first 'modern FPS' for Together Retro. I'm actually really proud of myself, as I've never stuck with a FPS like this, and it took me a really long time. I plan a pretty lengthy reflection on my blog, but for now I'll just say that I will rate Half-Life among some of the finest games I've ever played. Just brilliant.

Most people think that the second game is a lot better than the first one

Next stop: Half Life 2, Portal, System Shock 2, Painkiller, Quake, Metroid Prime, Unreal Tournament+Halo
Also Deus Ex and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (if you like RPGs) and Thief II: The Metal Age (if you like stealth games)
After that (provided you've played Doom and Wolfenstein) you've got most of the FPS basics covered :)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Wow dude, what a great accomplishment! I loved Half-Life and think it's one of the finest examples of what a FPS should be. And to think you're probably one of a very select few that has beaten it on the Dreamcast.

Nicely done Prunkhaft and Noiseredux; congrats on finishing the game. I was pretty excited when I saw that Together Retro was playing Half-Life, and it turned out to be a great experience. I really enjoyed following everyone's progress and comments on the forum; thanks to all of you for taking the time to write on the board.

I'm looking forward to Road Rash month next. In the meantime, I have some Doom to play. Prunkhaft, I'm going to need that mouse back soon since you're savvy with the trackpad...

One thing I'll take away from this is the constant reply to my "I think I'm fucked" cry. The reply being- Valve does not allow you to get fucked. That to me is an indicator of a thoughtful and pragmatic game studio.

Such a good game. Downloading 2 as I type. Fantastic Dizzy is next months game? Or is it Road Rash? Not sure.. but Steam gives me no results on either. Mac user.

Guess I missed the dead-line. Crap... I really wanted to finish the game before the end of the month, but I started SO freaking late. I've been having trouble making time for video games, but I forced time in for Half-Life. Still, with all that's been going on, I just haven't had the time.

I'll definitely be able to finish it up this weekend, and look forward to seeing how this all turns out. I can't wait to try out Half-Life 2, and have already beaten Portal several times. My computer has crazy issues with Portal 2, due to my crappy Intel Mesa drivers.

I've really have had a lot of fun, even if I didn't really join in on the talk too much. Not many games can draw me in to the experience, or make me jump like this one does. I have a feeling this is just how Valve games are, as I felt the same with Portal. I'm really happy that this was my first venture into Together Retro.

Even if I annoy you guys...

EDIT:
Also want to give Valve props for supporting both Linux and DC (even if it didn't get officially released in the end). Really wish Half-Life 2 supported *nix out of the box.
