I guess I can see this for the 8-bit games (Although I think 3 improved on 2, so I didn't get bored until 4), but no way is Mega Man X similar to Mega Man 2 (Nor is it inferiorBoneSnapDeez wrote:Mega Man 2 is the only Mega Man game I've ever really been into. All the other titles feel similar, but inferior.

I'd say MMX4 was the first X game to actually surprise me past the first X game. None could ever surpass the original MMX for me, but X4 was much better than X2 and X3. I couldn't get into X5 though.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
What was the official PAL name for the 2nd Shinobi game on GG? I can't find a definitive answer. Is it Shonobi II? The G.G. Shinobi II? Shinobi II: The Silent Fury? The G.G. Shinobi II: The Silent Fury?
In addition, what does the cartridge look like? I picked up a copy of Shinobi II at the boot fair one time, but it looks different to any other version I've seen, so I think it might be the Japanese version.

I just got MMX Collection for the Gamecube, so hopefully soon I'll see what the series is like past X3.dunpeal2064 wrote:I'd say MMX4 was the first X game to actually surprise me past the first X game. I still really really like X5 and it's crazy time limit. X4 was good too but I could never beat it. I thought it was too hard.

Looks like the PAL cart is the same as the US one. That's definitely a European box there.alienjesus wrote:What was the official PAL name for the 2nd Shinobi game on GG? As Hobie points out, Shinobi II: The Silent Fury is US/EU, while The G.G. Shinobi II: The Silent Fury is the Japanese (I can't read the kanji, but I think that's what it says).alienjesus wrote:What was the official PAL name for the 2nd Shinobi game on GG? I have a Japanese GB Tetris and Nemesis carts as well as a German Fortified Zone. These were purchased at used game stores here in the US that don't generally handle imports. Maybe games picked up on travel or sent by a friend if there wasn't a big group indicating an import enthusiast.alienjesus wrote:In that case, I definitely have the Japanese cartridge. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It just seems odd because the Game Gear was reasonably popular here in Europe, so importing seems unnecessary. It was the only Japanese game they had too, amongst a collection of about 8 games they were selling. Almost every other game was a sports game. One was sonic.Hobie-wan wrote:I have a Japanese GB Tetris and Nemesis carts as well as a German Fortified Zone. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Well likewise, there's no reason to import a Japanese GB Tetris cart as they all came with them here.
