Bullshit. If that were true, he'd want to hunt down some animal, or start lusting after elephants on the TV. A Big Mac is about the furthest thing away from inducing paleolithic cravings. It's sheer psychological trickery advertising success.MrPopo wrote:That's your body telling you that we've been eating red meat for millions of years.jinx wrote:I'm a pescetarian and don't eat meat, but I just got the strangest craving for a Big Mac.

Next time I hear someone say "Um, well... when the Native Americans hunted for food, nothing went to waste" I can reply with "So does McDonalds".
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Right... I'm sure my body deciding to toss it all back up agrees with you.
Last time I had a burger, I ended up throwing it all back up in the break room. It was free, I wasn't going to say no to free food...
For the last few years I just can't eat red meats. They make me terribly sick, and I've developed a mild Lactose intolerance. I can still eat cheese (sometimes), but straight milk kills my stomach. I hated milk anyway, so whatever.
Anyway, I think it was just the "secret sauce", because eating a salad with thousand island dressing cleared up the craving.

I love it when a shirt fits just right like that.Luke wrote: I usually despise polo shirts, but a green 100% cotton, lightweight, logo-less, breathable polo from the banana republic for $9.99 that also makes my muscles look bigger than they are? Yes please.

If you don't eat red meat on a semi-regular basis, your body stops producing the necessary enzymes needed to properly digest it. And if you haven't had red meat in a while and decide to do so, have a beer or three with your meal as it will help break down the meat. It's a fact.jinx wrote: For the last few years I just can't eat red meats.
Well, it is from BR, so it might be full of holes after the third wash. But I will enjoy it while I can. Really wish the Gap/Old Navy/BR family had better quality clothes as it's hard for me to find casual clothes. I'm usually in either a suit or a hoodie, and I've yet to find my casual clothes balance.CFFJR wrote: I love it when a shirt fits just right like that.

Thanks for the tips, but I think I'll just stick with eating fish.Luke wrote:If you don't eat red meat on a semi-regular basis, your body stops producing the necessary enzymes needed to properly digest it. Don't really miss the reds all that much anyway.
Interesting though...

I haven't shopped at Banana Republic in a number of years but I thought they had good quality stuff. Has the quality gone down?Luke wrote: Well, it is from BR, so it might be full of holes after the third wash. But I will enjoy it while I can. Yes, the quality has gone down considerably. I dropped coin on a pair of BR jeans only to have them tear apart in months. Meanwhile the $50 pair of Levi's I bought from one their retail stores have lasted me for over three years.gtmtnbiker wrote: I haven't shopped at Banana Republic in a number of years but I thought they had good quality stuff.
