These 'Hawks are something alright, I was looking forward when the Wild took them on Tues, but damn that 1st period!
Not to trash on anyone, but rarely a team that wins the President Cup (most wins/points in reg season) will win the Stanley Cup.
I am curious to see if the younger Bowman is going to trade for someone - we are about less than a month away from Trading Deadline. As for my Wild, we are making some progress, but who knows where we will be from two weeks from now.

I don't expect to see the Hawks win the Cup, and I'm already happy with what they accomplished.
Could be wrong, but I believe the percentage of President&Stanley Cup winners is somewhere around 6%. So there is hope.

OK, Trade Deadline has pass!
Anyone happy with their teams? I gotta say its a risky move that the Wild did with the Sabers, but I think it might be well worth it. As Vanek is a free agent in '14, there is some speculations that he would like to return to Minnesota.
Does that move make my Wild a cup favorite? Not quite yet, as I was hoping we could get someone in D, a physical-type specifically, to booster the D-depth.
But I have raised the expectations for this team, even if the Wild makes the playoffs, anything short of 2nd round will be disappointing.

My Blackhawks are looking fine, but the Pens (despite their losing streak) look playoff ready.
Flyers fans are going off the deep end on how bad their team is.

The last ten (or less) games of the regular season, anyone pumped up?
The Wild sure have a tough 3-game home stand, against Hawks, Blues, and Blue Jackets, which should be interesting to see how well they are prepared for playoffs.
Interesting to see what happens in the Southeast Division, which has caught me off-guard. I think the Caps can sneak in the playoff spot, as Ovie is looking really sharp.

Re: NHL (no 2012) 2013 season
The last week for the shorten season of NHL (no 12) 13, boy, a lot of things can happen within a week. Boston Strong! Never mind the last couple games, seeing the fan support across the league for Boston is a big positive.
With my Wild barely hanging on the 7th spot, I still see them playing in the playoffs - they should be able to win at least 2 games, and get 56 pts (2W + 1 OTL needed). But how far they can go will depend on the guys that can get back in time with playoffs.
Overall, I am not disappointed with the team, thou I wish they could've pick up an extra D-man (physical-style) during the season, but I think from here on, the future is bright - get some playoff experience for the young players, use the summer to reevaluate the prospects, figure out on which players to keep/let go/buy out/obtain.

PLAYOFFS! Quest for the Cup begins!
Well, I was disappointed to see how the Wild played the last few games before sealing the deal at Col. But once in the playoffs, anything can happen; but I don't see the Wild repeating the feat that the Kings accomplished last year: taking out seed #1, 2, and 3, bringing the Cup to LA (which the Great One never did).
The chance of the Wild upsetting the 'Hawks aren't million to one, still an uphill battle, it will require the team to play at a higher level - the last lost was 1-0, a goal by Hossa that a D-man turned over in Wild D-zone. The key for any best of series (regardless 5 or 7) is not to fall 2 games behind, if the Wild can get at least one win in the first two games at Chicago, then there's a chance; otherwise I do see the Wild exiting the playoffs very quickly.
Haven't seen any post by our neighbors up north, aren't any of you excited!? The Leafs have make the playoffs (thou I think they should at least credit Burke's work), and the East should be interesting to watch.

I have a terrible feeling the Penguins will coast their way to another cup.
I know that's a short post about something as big as the entire series, but it sums up how I feel.

And my Caps come up short again in the playoffs, losing to the Rangers at home 5-0.
