Finally finished my arcade stick!

Post by Godot102 »

So about a year ago, I posted about how I was looking to purchase an arcade stick. After doing loads of research on it and trying to figure out which one to get, I decided on picking up a madcatz SE stick and modding it. Now fast forward months later, my suitemate surprised me and actually bought me a WWE brawlstick for Christmas. A few months later, and me messing with Gimp to create designs, I finally decided on one. After saving up some extra money and figuring out which buttons to get along with finding the time to actually do it, I was finally ready to print out my design, buy the parts and assemble the stick.

Here is my very first Seimitsu modded arcade stick:

Mushihimesama Futari controls SO well with it :D

Well now that I have a stick I can use, its time to play some SHMUPS and possibly participate in the SHMUP of the month club :) .

Looks great! What all parts did you install? What gate did you pick? Are you going to be playing fighters too?

An amazing work of art. One of the sickest sticks I've seen in a long time.
The graphic in the buttons. wow.

I used Seimitsu PS 14 KN buttons and an LS 32-01 stick with a blue LB-39 balltop. The buttons are fairly easy to install but the stick was a little tricky as it needed to be semi-disassembled before installing it. You have to put one half of the stick in, then rotate it screw it in, then screw in the other half of the stick. I may try to play some fighting games, I just have not found one yet to really get into, any recommendations :) ?

Thanks :D . It came out even nicer than I thought. Getting the artwork in the buttons is surprisingly simple but does take some time and patience to pull off.

The stick is beautiful, hopefully you took pics as you progressed thru the mod. I mean you really have a nice piece of work, but why not go into detail of what you had to do for this custom mod. Maybe post a full fledged guide in you OP? Any extra wiring involved, parts needed with links and a detail on how the custom art was applied.

Unfortunately, I have not taken too many pictures of me actually taking it apart. I considered tweeting it as I modded it but that never happened :p. If any of you guys plan on doing this in the future and need help, I am more than happy to give you advice with it or even make a guide. I may make another one in the future for and put Sanwa parts in it. If I do, Ill be sure to take pictures as I build it. If I do one for the Wii, I probably won't change the artwork as I actually like The art on the Tatsunoko Stick. If you guys want though, I have no problem unscrewing the bottom of the stick and showing you guys the insides and what each part is/does.
