PVM Pixel Smearing

Post by Greystone98 »

Bought a second PVM recently as a backup to my main one, but this one has a odd "smearing" of the text on the menu. Also the letters are yellowish when they are white on my good one.

Here is a picture of the smearing. Anyone have an idea what might cause this?

Caps?
How do large white objects on black look on it; Do they smear as well?

Yeah, I was thinking about those electrolytics. Does anyone sell cap kits for PVMs?

I can't seem to get a white color at all. The yellow letters are bright white on my good PVM (same model). It's almost like one of the colors isn't being picked up. I'm going to run the 240p test suite on it and see what it does.

Started up the 240p tester and went to the color bars screen.

Blue is almost invisible...the other colors look ok except white is yellowish; I assume because blue is so muted.

So if I crack this monitor open, is there a pot for blue level?
