Racketboy PSO Meet-up (All Versions)

Post by Blu »

Hi All,

Anyone interested in going down to Ragol and doing some Rappy hunting? I'm looking to arrange a meet-up online for anyone who is down. Welcoming all hunters to the Dreamcast Version of PSO. I do have Gamecube as well, and though my PC doesn't run Blue Burst well at all (lolimbad), I'd be willing to try.

How does tomorrow look? Next weekend? Let us know in this thread, so we can pursue Dark Falz!

I know this has been covered so many times. Does it matter if i'm using dialup modem or broadband adapter? Are they compatible (can we use either or?).

This weekend is no good for me, but i'd def be up for trying this game.

yes Mike, either works just fine.

I've been super busy with new house stuff, so it's generally tough for me to commit to certain time, but if I happen to be around when you guys are on then I'll def jump on myself. :D

This weekend doesn't work amazingly for me, but I've been tooling about with the game online.

Noise, does the patch disc need to be fired up each time the console is turned on, as in a boot disc? My guess is yes, as it just flashes the memory, right? Or am I mistaken?

My friend Nate wants to know if he needs:
PSO
or
PSO Ver. 2

Or, are those also compatible?

@blu: yes, you have to use that as a boot disc every time.

@Nate: Both versions work - however, I *think* you need to be on the same version as everyone else. I have both, so whatever. Though my current character is in V2, and you'll probably find more folks playing V2.

You can actually create games in v.2 that allow for v.1 players to join in on. V.2 players can also join v.1 games, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know if there are many errors or glitches that occur on the private server, but when I played live it was always fine playing with players from both versions. I imagine it'd be okay. I have both versions as well for the Dreamcast.

I'm down! My USB modem should be arriving next week, so once that's set up I'd love to play with you guys. I'm playing v2 on the DC.

building a PC-DC server? I never got mine to work. Glad I found other ways to get online.

Yeah, I'd be curious as to how you got that to work!
