I woke up to 70 text messages from my ex today. My response?
tl:dr
All this talk of reply all emails reminds me of when my friend was about to quit his IT job at RBC bank and he let me play with his blackberry. I started sending out emails to everyone of lol cats and the subject was I love you. He didn't even get in trouble he just said he lost his phone.

Good: I got free pizza and wings today.
Bad: USPS lost my package. AGAIN. This is the 3rd one they've lost in the past couple months.

My medical terminology class has been a continuing pain in my ass. Our syllabus has an online quiz that ends saturday at noon. Instead it ended a day early. I ended up having to get a zero on it because of this, even though I have brought it up to her already. We went through this entire 16 week class with only one single lecture. the teacher has literally taught us nothing on the subject matter and has continued to be the most worthless human being on the face of the planet. Even after continued complaints, nothing changed and we have had to suffer because of it.

Tomorrow is our final exam which is open book and open note, a move made by her because of, in her own words, "ineptitude." She kicked me out of class last week because I came in "sick" with her reasoning being that she didn't want to risk getting anyone else in the class sick for the final exam.

Every three hours of my week dedicated to this class is spent listening to everyone read a sentence that they wrote about a medical term given to us. AND THAT IS IT! We literally listen to each other talk and then are assigned a new word and that is the result of a full 3 hour class. We end up talking about topics such as, "Is Chiropractic care a scam?" "you gotta check out this guys broken leg on youtube," and my personal favorite, "Does this lady really need a service animal?"

Fuck this class. I have been getting a 4.0 in every previous class I have taken and dedicated so much time to teach myself this class and even then, I get a zero on a test because of our teachers ineptitude. We previously had tests that had answers that, no matter what answer you chose, it would come out as incorrect on the screen...even if you were right. She says that she would fix that, but nothing has come of it. 2 tests that I had 100% on came out as a 75% and she has yet to fix it for not only me, but everyone else in the class. We are all losing our minds with the frustration involved in this circus that is this class.

...I just needed to vent.

How has this teacher not been fired yet? Is she tenured or something?
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

Nope. She is not even a full time teacher on campus. It boggles my mind. She went through an evaluation earlier in the year because of the complaints we had. There is gonna be huge shitstorm after this.

You need to talk to someone higher up in the department (not just student evaluation forms). She can't get away with that repeatedly. It sounds like she's already been given a second chance and she's blowing it. Also, try demanding your tuition back and having the course struck from your record. They might not do that, but you have a good case for it. Suggest your classmates do the same. That will get her kicked out because it will get the attention of the rest of the university outside of her dept.

That is the plan. Even if she fixes the issues, it has been a non-stop frustrating offense. I have had to study and work about so much harder in this class than any other, not because of the content, but because nothing has been taught to us. I have already rounded up a majority of the class, all of which have been affected by this to let the higher ups know.

You folks have some bad teachers

...more evidence of how Higher Education's increasing reliance on temporary faculty is doing a lot of harm. How can you expect someone to be a good teacher when they often work for a very low rate of pay, are strategically denied benefits, are given immense class loads, and are told they have no job security regardless of performance? I am not "excusing" your teacher, but I wouldn't be shocked to learn that there is little to no incentive for her to give a fuck.

Dave's absolutely right. Many colleges and universities try to cut costs by hiring lots of adjunct or graduate students (sometimes one and the same) to instruct courses. The same went for a lot of our administrative staff, they went without a contract for a good year and a half, where they were working out their health care benefits. I'm not sure what it's attributed to, tuition keeps going up, attendance keeps going up, is it a misuse of the funding on the colleges' part to not adequately staff and take care of said staff?

I realize there's a lot of generalizations in that statement, but I imagine there's a handful that are quite true.

I've never been paid a penny for my lectures at ECU, then again I've never asked for compensation. That, and I never asked for compensation.

Mega Frown: It is final. My favorite couple to hang out with has called off their wedding. This is the pits. Armpits.

They were arguing a lot, and as a common occurrence, the wedding stressed them out to the point of not being able to communicate. My buddy is already trying to move in with his friend "Roach", who in over seven years of friendship I have never met. As for my gal-pal that he broke up with...I have no clue what she's going to do. She's a cute nurse, so she'll be fine in some ways, but these two were perfect for each other and it is a bit soul crushing to see them cut ties. I think they are both making a big mistake, but as a friend, right now is the time to be a sounding board and keep my yap shut.

Going to be difficult having get togethers, but that is the least of my worries. As of now they still live together, which makes things even more difficult. How difficult? Allow me to explain:

I'm a shirt off my back kind of guy for my friends. Nice to a fault. So when my buddy called me at 5:40am this very morning, I picked up the phone to have him ask me if I wanted to go to the Farmer's Market. I said "Sure, but my wife mentioned she wanted to go as well. Give me ten minutes to see if she wants to sleep in or go".

I gently wake up my wife, let her know I'm going to take a shower, and if she'd like to go to the Market. Her response, "Um. He's already in our drive-way". Poor guy just wanted to get out of his house asap.

So we leave at around 6:30am, and arrive to the market before the vendors do, sit around and leave after a half hour. I did get some sweet strawberries, but most vendors are setting up 7am, not in full swing. We proceed to go to a half dozen yard sales, and each sale had their fair share of nothing.

My wife and I were yard saled out after the second one we visited, and eventually I told my buddy to "Please. Drop us off back at home". Of course he was disappointed.

I hate it when a friend hits a rough patch. I hate it even more when I have two friends who have given up.

Smile: Got all my yard work done yesterday, so today is goof off day, all day long. Hoping to play some Tekken 6 this afternoon.
