Well it's the "normal" version of the game, the SNES one was made easier, and then in Japan they released a special "easytype" version of IV that was based on the US SNES release.dunpeal2064 wrote:Isn't the ps1 version of FFIV also the "hard" version of the game, while the SNES game was made easier for us audiences?
I recall hearing something to this affect, but I have only ever played the ps1 version.

Reminds me of when the Ps2 port was stupid expensive for some reason. I remember always wondering why anyone would buy that version when at the time you could just go out and buy a Dreamcast with a copy of the game for less.

Really? The Dreamcast version is the best? Even though both the PS2 and XBox has better hardware?Damm64 wrote:TIME TO BUMP THIS!!!

Yep. Maybe cuz Naomi tech is essentially Dreamcast hardware which equals to a very quick, simple and easy home conversion. Maybe cuz even if PS2, and OGxbox have better hardware, it may not be well suited for 2D sprite based games despite all that polygonal pushing pawah!BurningDoom wrote:Really? I don't know, I'm sure the ps2 and xbox could've handled the game fine, but it's just a shoddy port job. They both had pretty solid versions of Capcom vs SNK 2 after all.CD AGES wrote:Yep. But yeah, the Dreamcast port was the easiest to make, and it's the closest version to the original arcade because the DC's hardware is almost identical to the arcade hardware.

Re: Which Version Is Best?
I'm thinking about getting The Simpsons Game. I tried this on DS, and found the visuals and gameplay disappointing. Maybe I should cut my losses, but I won't. I've been a die-hard Simpsons fan for 23+ years, so I'm way past cutting my losses.
Which version is better between PS2 and wii? What controller schemes does the wii version support? I don't have any current-gen systems, so no 360 or PS3 versions for me.
