Played the heck out of my 161-1 today too. This cart is as good as advertised, very impressed. Super Dodge Ball is a ton of fun and my and my 7yo beat Robo Army on about 15 credits. Oh...and Double Dragon is a 2D fighter! I had no idea, thought for sure it was a beat 'em up.

I added Last Blade for NGCD yesterday. I managed to get a rarer US copy even for less than the Japanese ones usually go for. I really need to get a stick.

Are you looking for an arcade quality stick or one of the stock neo brand sticks? I thought I saw John post he picked up (4) the other day? 2 of them may have had issues, but sounded fixable.Hobie-wan wrote:I added Last Blade for NGCD yesterday. The neo sticks are a step up from say the SNES advantage and the Sega brand virtua sticks, but certainly not true arcade sticks, a middle road option - definitely serviceable.

Wait! You... didn't... know... it... was... a... fighter???Oh...and Double Dragon is a 2D fighter! I had no idea, thought for sure it was a beat 'em up.
Yeah man, the game is great even if it is based on the shitty live action flick
As a matter of fact Rage of the Dragons was originally suppose to be a full on sequel to this game, but the rights to series were purchased by Million after Technos went belly up after making DD on the Neo Geo. Rage ended up being a spiritual sequel instead. I love RotD btw! So good. I actually owned a complete MVS kit of the game... and I don't even own MVS hardware.
Double Dragon and Rage were pretty awesome, yet under appreciated fighters.

I had no idea it was a fighter. Completely clueless. Just assumed standard beat 'em up fare like the NES/SNES games.
I thought it was pretty good, yeah. The character "daze" is a bit too long imo, but a minor complaint. RotD is outstanding.
I'm wanting to get into Ninja Masters, but I want to wait until I have more than 30 minutes, I get the feeling it is going to be exceptional from the vids i've seen.

The pad is great. Just not as much for shmups with repeated button tapping.o.pwuaioc wrote:What's wrong with the controller?

My only fighting game is SamSho 2 and unless I buy a lot or something I probably won't get any others. Regular SNK sticks of either shape are all I need.

@hobie: have you looked into the more compact kidney bean SNK stick for the neo? It seems more abundant and cheaper. It also does the job pretty good especially if shmups are your primary.
Re: Let's talk about your NG MVS / AES / CD & NGPC collectin
Is the pad good for anything? I'm thinking that the too few platformers on the system won't really make it worth it to buy one, that my sticks should be fine.Hobie-wan wrote:The pad is great. Just not as much for shmups with repeated button tapping.o.pwuaioc wrote:What's wrong with the controller?

Bah, I hate sticks; the NGCD pad is awesome IMO.
As far as shmups, I made it to Stage 6 on Zed Blade using a pad.
