Won't be seeing Gatsby.

I dislike the book, but the trailers have been interesting, and now that Leonardo DiCaprio is well past his teenage heartthrob days, I genuinely enjoy him in films, even if his attempts at accents sometimes border on painful. So I am unsure of what to think about this film.

generic title, but surprisingly creepy and well made movie.

When I used to work at Blockbuster/Hollywood Video, practically every B or C-movie on the shelf had Casper Van Dien. He's a joke between my friend and I that a B-movie isn't worth it's salt unless it has him in it. Or it's funny when a sequel that had Casper van Dien in it, lost him for the subsequent sequel. Like what were you doing that you lost him? :P That must've been a pretty terrible script.

No, he usually just reserved himself for the truly awful second sequel.

Pain and Gain

I liked it, but I didn't go in with any expectations. Quite a bit of dark humor, lots of lifter bro moments, and some seriously sick twists. All in all, a great movie to see with friends.

Samson & Sally - I remember my grandmother had this on VHS, and I can't figure out how this didn't give me nightmares as a kid. Also, what the hell is the point of the walruses?

If those friends are bro-dudes who like murder, torture, and dismemberment mixed with seventh grade humor (he called that guy a faggot! Ho ho ho!) to be "high-larious".

It's so far away from "great" in my eyes that I don't know where to begin. Well, here's a start: The movie portrays two gym lunks and a buddy who tortured, killed, and dismembered people for the sole reason of financial gain as likeable dude-bros who can't seem to catch a break. Oh murder, you are so funny.

The movie is an insult to the actual people involved and their family members. And the movie is also an insult to movies. It's close to being an insult to the word insult. In the right hands, maybe this could have been decent...but ugh. And this isn't hating on Bay, more of a hating on anyone who was involved in this movie.

No offense Forlorn, but it's obvious that we disagree on this.

Don't you see, it's a satirical take on how the corporate rat race dehumanizes us all. And the Rock is a metaphore for Jesus.

A couple of us from work went to see Pain and Gain yesterday and we both liked it quite a bit. We were laughing the whole way through. Both Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson have fantastic comedic timing and that is what kept us cracking up. Also Rebel Wilson. So Forlorn +1.
