Why y'all talking about Dux for two pages, that game sucks!

Because Dux 1.5 is basically on the way and mjmjr25 asked a question regarding it. Not too mention conversations regarding its true successor Redux, so quit shitting on the game... even though it does suck
I actually like Dux, at least WAY more that Last hope. Yeah I said it
I'm willing to try the pink bullets update though to see that is any better.

Next time you want a game of the quality of Dux, I'll charge you less, and I'll even clean up when I'm done shittin all over you. Dux can't offer that same generosity.

I love Last Hope, more so than any horizontal shooter, aside Pink Bullets. (And maybe Sengoku Blaede and Border Down). Pink Bullets adds a very addicting scoring system that actually makes you re-think everything you have learned about Last Hope thus far. For most people, that would be nothing, but this game is very memo-heavy, and adding the layers of scoring that they did changed everything up, and makes each stage exciting again.

that's a pretty heavy statement. I must say... I'm baffled Chaz. You've played a hell of a lot of shmups. Just puzzled that Last Hope would be your favorite horizontal shooter. I mean - I'm not being a dick - but there's a lot of hori-shmups out there that I'd much rather play.

Hmm, I really can't comment. Maybe the game gets really awesome if you make it to the 3rd stage. I never did, so my opinion is based on the brutality that was the first 2 stages.

Considerably.

Not a dick statement at all man, and I totally understand why most people wouldn't like it. Here are a few reasons it places so high on my list.

1. I love scoring more than anything else in a shmup, and most horis either have no scoring system, or have a scoring system that doesn't draw me in so much. Pink Bullets has a really great scoring system that, imo, further explores the greatness of the game, instead of distracting from it Deathsmiles, on the other hand, I can't stand playing for score. Same with Progear, I hate scoring in that game. This may also have to do with...

2. If I want to play a bulet hell, I'll play a vert. Bullet hell hori just doesn't click with me. Thats not to say its impossible for me to enjoy a very manic hori, but its not like verts, where it being a bullet hell at all is reason enough for me to try it. It must have something to do with the way my eyes track patterns coming from left to right, as opposed to top to bottom.

3. I love the idea of a memo heavy game like R-Type or Last Hope, because the game makes sure you are capable of tackling every single inch of the game. There is no moment where you juts randomly flail through stuff, you either know your shit, or you die.

So, when looking for a hard-as-shit, memo heavy hori that actually has a well thought out scoring system, I'm hard-pressed to find something I enjoy more. To me, it is the perfect fusion of old and new, and encompasses pretty much everything I enjoy about shooters. Not to mention the graphics and music, which hit my sweet spot.

So uhh, yeah, I didn't mean to jack up ur thread like this Brad
