It's superficial, I know, but I really appreciate production values. The higher the production values, the more likely I am to watch it. Which is why I'll get down on some Classic Game Room, but not, say, Biff's Jaguar Game Reviews.

AVGN simply has better production values, and a better collection. I agree that I don't really like the humor or the skits, I mainly tune in to watch some historical accounts of obscure stuff, even if I disagree with his opinion. It's also why I can stomach stuff like Screw Attack's Game Vault, even if I think the crew has god-awful opinions. They simply produce a good show.

And, recommending strafefox yet again, that all adds up to why I think Splash Wave (Sample: is the best show I've seen online. Broadcast-level production values, a focus on the obscure, little opinions thrown around in favor of simple facts, and they're unobtrusive and short.

Terrific show.
Tell me about it, they cited Strider as the best Genesis game.

-HIGH FUCKING FIVE- I too hate Stratocasters. I've played quite a few of them and I have NEVER played one that I actually liked. Telecasters however...I've never played a bad Telecaster. But as for me, my weapon of choice is probably always going to be Schecter guitars.

Back to an unpopular gaming opinion. I prefer to play an original GBA than an SP. Provided it's got one of those afterburner lights in it. Just feels much more solid. I also despise the Gameboy Color. Not so much the system, but the library. I can count all of the GBC games I like on one hand.
Counting black cartridge games?
As for DS, the thing about that was you couldn't play GB & GBC games on it, so you didn't have a complete GBA anyway. Unless that whole thing where you use a RetroVision in a NES-to-Famicom Adapter in a CYBER Familator Lite works. You'd still be missing GBC games, but in your case that sounds like a plus.

I've tried some Strats that played like a dream... but those are always single coil, which isn't very diverse in its tone. The Strats I have tried with buckers in it had no feel to them, and still sounded more tinny then I'd like from a bucker.

I also love Schecter. Its my current weapon of choice, and has the best tone out of any guitar I've owned thus far.

Metal Gear Solid, Shantae, LoZ: Oracle of Seasons, Dragon Warrior 3, Donkey Kong Country, Megaman Xtreme ... so unless you have six fingers ... HA!

Ah, you remind me of another one of mine: I seriously hate the SP. I'm amazed that it's the preferred Game Boy for many (or seems to be, at least).

Speaking of Donkey Kong and unpopular opinions.

Donkey Kong (GB) is the best DK game, and it might be even better than the DKC games. Granted it has been maybe 16 years since I last played it, but I loved that game.

That game is flat out awesome.

I don't know if I'd compare DKC to DKGB directly like that, as DKGB is more of a puzzle game while the DKC games are just vanilla platformers. That said, DKGB is still better.

Backlight, rechargable battery, full backwards compatibility with all GB and GBC games. Thought it was pretty obvious why it's such a popular model.

AppleQueso got there first, but it seems obvious to me. Rechargable battery, backlit without modding, plays all Game Boy game cartridges - no other portable console does all of those things.

I like most of the things about the SP. However I hate how small it is. I have big hands and long fingers and can get hand cramps if I play the SP too long.

Yeah I have the same problem, I agree with the person earlier that said it was nice to have the buttons to the right of the screen.
