The 16-bit era had a lot of decent licensed games too. So I imagine some of those may actually be worth playing.Ack wrote:Yeah, going for a particular company or character intrigues me, but there are tons of comic-based games on the SNES. Not just Marvel or DC, but Image, as well as games based on properties related to comics such as Dennis the Menace or The Addams Family, European comics such as Asterik and Lucky Luke, Japanese manga, etc.Gamerforlife wrote:Awesome! That's a fun collecting goal. I might have to try JL Task Force some time just cause Batman's in it.Ack wrote:For Batman, I now have The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Justice League Task Force, which offers him as a playable character. For other DC characters, I also have The Death and Return of Superman, which...now that I think about it, that might be it for video games on the SNES based on DC characters.

Batman Returns and The Death and Return of Superman were good beat-em ups. But other than that, the rest of those games (DC Comics 16-bit games) were garbage. ESPECIALLY Batman Forever.Gamerforlife wrote:

Well, Justice League: Task Force wasn't terrible. It just wasn't good either. Very generic, even by 16-bit fighting game standards.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
Resident Evil Revelations - Misprint, first edition.
I got this in the mail today from a nice person who sold it to me at a reasonable price. Yeah, this is essentially the second time I am buying this game, but these printing errors are a nice bit of gaming history and trivia. They add something nice to a collection. I also own Astal with the blank spine, and a misprint copy of Final Fantasty 7, so this is a nice little addition to my misprint collection
I also managed to buy one of the little known, pre-sale, lenticular cover cases that were given to a small number of lucky people who pre-ordered the game. They were basically given out as a nicer looking replacement for the game's regular case.

Ultimate marvel vs capcom 3: finally got it to a price i'm happy with.
Twisted metal (brazilian version?), it was a bit more than i was happy to pay but i knew if i didn't buy it in that chance i would never buy it
Both on the PS3.

Ever play Adventures of Batman & Robin on the Genesis? It's anything but garbage. Plays like Gunstar Heroes.BurningDoom wrote:Batman Returns and The Death and Return of Superman were good beat-em ups. Yeah, and I would add that I don't really understand the praise for The Death and Return of Superman if I'm being completely honest. I've always found it to be a poor man's Batman Returns with a horrible soundtrack. Just my opinion. The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the SNES is probably the best DC game of the 16-bit era in my opinion, with the Genesis version and Batman Returns on the SNES not too far behind. Sunsoft's Batman on the Genesis is cool too. I love some of the music like this stage:Nintendork666 wrote:Ever play Adventures of Batman & Robin on the Genesis? It's anything but garbage. The Sega CD version of The Adventures of Batman and Robin is interesting for featuring actual animation and dialog that feels like it was taken right out of the animated series. Some people have referred to it as a "lost episode"

I played the Sega CD version when my Sega CD still worked, and thought it was quite bland and forgettable. I still own the Game Gear version, and think the same thing about it. But I don't remember any run-n-gunning happening (Gunstar Heroes comment).Nintendork666 wrote:Ever play Adventures of Batman & Robin on the Genesis? It's anything but garbage. Never did play Batman on Genesis, but I LOVE the NES version.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
Good early Batman games:
Batman (NES)
Batman (GB)
Batman Returns (SNES)
I'm sure there's others, but those are great.
I got Batman Forever (SNES) from a multi game lot years ago on eBay, the games I wanted were in it, but not this one.
HOLD ON
Need I say more?

Re: Games Acquired 2013
The Sega CD version is not the same game as the Genesis version. The Genesis version is a run n gun game, and a pretty damn good one too. Each version of The Adventures of Batman and Robin is a completely different game.BurningDoom wrote:I played the Sega CD version when my Sega CD still worked, and thought it was quite bland and forgettable. And you know nothing about old school Batman games if you haven't played The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the SNES. That's the best 2D Batman game ever made. No contest
