There was a Saturn that had been collecting dust for over a year at a locl game store in my town. I bought it for $30, grabbed a mod chip from here and never looked back. The Saturn is one of the greatest systems I've ever owned.

The Dreamcast is a great console to collect for as a majority of it's games are quite cheap too. I have almost every single for it I want now, barring the more expensive (£50+) ones like Under Defeat, Segagaga etc.
Yeah, the poor Saturn sales (in the Western markets), and the relative age of the system, make it a more coveted game console. Supply/demand at it's best.

It's funny you mention Under Defeat, because it's one of five Dreamcast games I actually own. The Dreamcast certainly has a ton of cheap titles, though shoot 'em ups and fighters will, on average, cost more than the system itself these days.

The prices are dropping - I bought Under Defeat for $90 (sealed), and I just bought a sealed copy of Ikaruga for $51. Meanwhile, Pink Godzilla just tried to peddle a sealed copy of Ikaruga for $180 at PAX.

Border Down (limited edition) may be the most expensive game for the Dreamcast (barring the LE of Bangai-O), but the last sealed copies went for $200 and $142.50 on eBay. That's sealed. Racketboy's pricing of $220 or greater is already outdated. Sure, there are still buy it now's for $350 and up, but they aren't selling. When put to an auction, demand is dropping, and so is the price.

Good for gamers, bad for collectors. :D

Dreamcast IMO, is the best bang for your buck system out there, if you went out and wanted to buy a system and a handful of games you could do so for like $100 and walk away with a system, vmu's and maybe 5-8 very good games.
