Well obviously the Commodore 64 is more powerful, it's bigger.
It also has more buttons!

Has a built in keyboard. Can use carts, discs, and tapes. There were modems and printers. No contest.

I think your wife might be right, when it comes to the actual games the N64 does have a higher resolution. There is also the 3d and analog stick option and certainly a much quicker bus speed over the C64. Even the NES is faster the 1MHz Commodore 64 unless a certain cart is added.

That said the Commodore has potentially more versatility in games, Light Pen drawing and SID Chip music potential to be discovered and all playable on a normal TV or HDTV. Still the best version of Omega Race as an official release, the paddle control in the Vic20 and C64.

Here's one that's totally random --

How many of us besides myself like to check out neat things in the BIOS of disc-based systems?

For example, I've been starting my new Gamecube games up for the first time through the bios, because sometimes you'll see some interesting messages. By going to Game Play, and on the screen that says Press Start, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow displays a message, "Embrace The Dark".

Also, try putting your Dreamcast games in without closing the lid, and select "Music" in the BIOS. Close the lid, and you'll get a special disc "image" for each one, sometimes not having to do with the game itself. Also, some games have hidden stuff beyond the "Warning: This disc is for use only on Sega Dreamcast". I found out on Flag to Flag racing that after that message plays, the in-game music is on separate tracks, which means you could put it in an actual CD player and get the music. I think the best thing can be found on MDK2 -- put that disc in a PC and "Explore" it -- I'll leave that to you!

Ugh, beaten Ninja Gaiden 3 for the Xbox 360 a few days ago. Needless to say, I fucking hated it. I could write a small book about why it sucked, but the main things that pissed me off were that the normal enemies are way too damn easy (just giant meat bags, essentially), the bullshit quicktime events and hand-holding, and the sad attempt at a story. I think I'm going play a real action game.

I think it's kinda poetic how both the NES and Modern Ninja Gaiden 3 are the worst of their respective trilogies.

The only reason the NES 3 is the worst is because they took something that wasn't broken (easier in difficulty, in fact) and fixed it by making it artificially more difficult and adding limited continues. I believe the version in Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES) fixed all that.

Hmmm..... this new Ninja Gaiden sounds appealing to me. 1 & 2 are frustrating and overly difficult.

I didn't know the 3rd NES game was bad. I've wanted it for years after loving the heck out of Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2, but haven't come across a good deal on it yet (the eBay prices for it are crazy).
