Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
For the past year or more I have only really been collecting arcade stuff. I have been wanting this for awhile now and finally got one. Not to bad of a deal on it for $67 shipped.

Now the question is..... Do you have a floppy drive?Fragems wrote:Forgot if I posted this yet but picked up my first complete floppy disk game. Found SIM City 2000 CIB for $2 in the board game section at goodwill. About passed it up since I already own it on the PSone and digitally on the PC, but the box and inserts were to cool to pass up. Especially love the manual at 139 pages total it is pretty hefty and they have an awesome gallery in the back with a variety of cool stuff art, poetry, etc.

I picked up an art book from a local comic book shop. It's an art book from my favorite series this generation: Mass Effect!

I actually have a couple lol. I have an external floppy drive, an old dell dimensions 3000 hooked up to my big screen, and my dads old laptop with good old Windows 95 lol.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Now the question is..... Glad to hear it! My father-in-law recently gave me a 2003-era Windows XP Dell computer tower that has a built in floppy drive. It's a great little DOSBox machine. I also have some old DOS/Win 9x machines with both 3.5" and 5.25" drives, plus a Win 98 laptop.Fragems wrote:I actually have a couple lol. Any recommendations for a good external drive? I purchased a cheapo $10 from Amazon last year. The thing is a complete pile.

Ill check what mine is its buried somewhere around here lol. No clue what brands are currently good for external floppy drives.BoneSnapDeez wrote:

Well i found my external drive was an old TEAC N533 apparently it doesn't like windows 7 though so ill probably just have to play any floppy games I get on my old Dell Dimensions 3000.
From what I have seen TEAC seems to be one of the bigger manufacturers and they seem to have some of the best reviews might want to try them.

Guilty Gear Isuka
Gradius III and IV
Goodwill - Street Fighter EX3 CIB - $4

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Nothing wrong with disc only man. I got 5 huge binders packed with hundreds of disc only games and a couple empty spindles with disc only games. I will never pass up a disc only game for a quarter LOL, especially when the game is worth 10, 20 or 30 bucks and I get to play it for a quarter! You have to be a player first and a collector second.Onyxthecat wrote:Picked these up from Gamestop for $17.00 total. All are disc only but I'm ok with that.

BTW, I have completed many PS2 games by Gamestop dumpster diving and finding cases for lose discs that I have. It also got me a game and watch handheld and the DS game from Nintendo by registering many of the codes I get from the 100's of empty DS cases we have. I though about offering them over in the BST but I dont know if I have the free time to sort em out for people right now LOL.

Bryan - is that daughterboard the Soul Calibur game, or is it the entire PCB? That's the namco 246 hardware, yeah? Are you able to play others on that board, or is each namco game standalone? I've not delved into that hardware yet...
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It is a Namco system 12 game. I do believe the daughterboard is the Soul Calibur part but the games are still not interchangeable. I also have a Tekken 3 PCB it is also on the system 12 and looks the same.mjmjr25 wrote:Bryan - is that daughterboard the Soul Calibur game, or is it the entire PCB? Now for the 246, I am wanting to get into that badly right now. The 246 would be a simple disc and dongle swap for SC 2, SC3, Tekken 4,Capcom Fighting Jam, Fate and a few other fighters. And with the prices being 1000 yen for Tekken 4 and 3000 yen for Capcom Fighting Jam why not get them, the 246 board with a game usually runs $150 to $200.
