The one obviously lacking feature...

Post by Mozgus »

Has there ever been a fighting game, 3D or 2D, that has VISIBLE body damage, which is created during the right? Companies like Namco continue to make games like Tekken and Soul Calibur very visually impressive, but the fighters remain in perfect condition even after being defeated. It's getting kind of stupid. The closest thing I can think of is in Street Fighter 2, after each fight, the losing character was shown all bloodied up. Admit it. That was kind of fulfilling, wasn't it?

Wouldn't it be cool if bruises would begin to show on their bodies, in the locations they were struck, a few second after the blow? Or in Soul Calibur, if (at least) small cuts were shown in the areas they were sliced? I'd go on to say that certain clothes should be slicable as well, but then we'd have everyone doing chest-high swipes at Taki, wouldn't we?

Art of Fighting had visible body damage created during the battle? Which one? Because I played a few and never saw that.
