Well damn, I feel like an idiot, now. I was talking about RFGen, not Backloggery.

Indeed it does. It's at least has the bar-graphs going for it. But other than that, it's just a freaking list, I can do that on Microsoft Word. I don't understand why it's so popular amongst collectors.

VGCollect.com and Darkadia are much better, IMO, as it actually displays the box-art on shelves and looks very nice.

As an RFGen fan, I took a peek at collections on both of your preferred sites, and honestly can't stand the thumbnails. If I wanted to look at games I owned on a shelf, I'd just look at my own shelves lol.

To me, RFGen is moreso a quick reference guide for me to check up on what I own, or the release year/publisher of a title I can't quite recall, than a way to publicly display my collection. It's very nice having immediate access to that info without having to research/input it myself.

It seems like they're going for a Siskel and Ebert vibe and they actually pull it off rather well. They cover a pretty wide range of stuff and it's always interesting, even when the humor falls flat. I'd say it's my third favorite gaming series, behind AVGN and Turbo Views.
I started watching them. They are really fun, and they feel very "honest". Two amateur fans making a show for people like them to enjoy. I haven't seen anything I didn't know yet, but that's ok cause I'm kind of ultra hardcore anyway

Game Sack's Joe Redifer is kind of a long-time staple on some retro forums. He's been quieter in recent years, but he still lurks and occasionally chimes in.

VGCollect and Darkadia do have all those stats, as well. But one thing I do wish they had is the bar-graphs that RFGeneration has.

I love seeing how one system or genre stacks up against another in my collection. I find that a lot of the time they don't often mirror my preferences. For example, I have far more PS2 games than any other system. Not because it's my favorite system (heck it's not even my preferred system that generation, XBox is), it just happens to be that I've acquired a TON of cheap PS2 games from GameStop the last couple of years.

Cause you can't tell that apart just by looking at your shelf?

Of course I can, but I like seeing those stats all laid out in front of me. I can also see how they stack up in genres and by publishers as well with those bar graphs.

Fair enough. Though I don't need graphs to tell me that I overwhelmingly own JRPGs and platformers
