Just watched some hands on gameplay and I've got to say it looks really cool!

I really dig what they are doing. LTTP inspired game and sequel while not just copying everything and adding some new wrinkles.

I was thinking about getting a 3DS after seeing Super Mario Land 3D. This has now pretty much cemented the decision for me!

Oh man, for a second I was a little turned off by the art direction for Link. Then I saw the old promotional art for Link to the Past and it clicked: He looks EXACTLY like the artwork from the Zelda 2 - Link to the Past era.

And suddenly I LIKE the new art work. Either I am easily persuaded or nostalgia really is that powerful.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

3DS is getting a bunch of good games, I would definitely recommend getting one.

I'm seeing lots of use of 3D space in general and things that just couldn't be done with sprites.
It also doesn't look nearly as good, in my opinion. I'll take the classic LttP art style any day over what this looks like.

It is, isn't it? :D

I "early adopted" the 3DS, and ended up in the ambassador program. It's definitely a good thing that I had those GBA games to play on it, because Super Mario 3D Land almost made me pack the whole bloody lot up and sell it to someone else before it became a total loss.

I'm so happy they turned it around -- even with what it has right now for a library, it's a must-own system. Games like this prove that somehow, somewhere, Nintendo's still got it.
