My mouth actually dropped when I saw this. I really hope Snyder pulls this off, because that trailer makes it look amazing. I really love the Krypton shots, I hope we see lots of it.

I'm one of the few people who liked Superman Returns, so if the new one is at least as good, I'll be happy.

Hell, if the new Supes movie is half as good as the trailer it might become my favorite comic book based movie ever. That trailer impressed me on so many levels that it gave me goosebumps.

That quick shot of Lois with Superman itself was awesome and promising. Their interaction seemed something perfect.

Ha! I've been telling people he same thing here at work.

As far as SUPERMAN RETURNS was concerned, I liked it, but I didn't love it. It had it's issues. The biggest of which I really disagreed with Superman lifting an island made of Kryptonite - with a shard of Kryptonite in his ass.

I know Superman is supposed to 'always rise to the occasion and save the day' but hello McFly, a SLIVER of Kryptonite will weaken him. This is why Lex wore a Kryptonite ring to keep Superman away. It just made no sense.

Also, I didn't like the fact that - even though it was a loving homage to the Reeve-Era Superman - they basically just remade Superman '78.

ON TOP OF THAT - since Singer went to do Returns, we ended up with the shitfest that was Bret Rattner's Xmen Last Stand.

If you ever read the X-Men comics, especially the ones from the early 90's, you'd know how well Brett Ratner actually nailed it. Despite what the fanboys would have you believe, the comics really are that silly and over the top and Last Stand captured the essence of the comics perfectly. Sorry, but it's true.

From what I have heard, kryptonite won't play a role in the movie. In fact it may not even make an appearance in the movie.

Dear God, Last Stand was on FX a few nights ago and for some reason I watched most of it. I do enjoy Kitty Pride in the movie, but that is about it.

The special effects are so terrible you kind of feel bad for whoever did them. Angel's wings are probably the worst, but Kelsey Grammer as the Beast is a close second. On top of that, they managed to turn Wolverine into a whiny baby with an awful wig. For shame.

Yeah I'm not complaining about the story elements. It was dumb, but that's not the problem. Luke pretty much mentioned everything wrong with Last Stand. It was horribly made, and is definitely the redheaded stepchild of the 3 'main' X-Men movies. It had so many stupid things in it, it was just awful. The bridge scene comes to mind. You can actually see the day change in 10 seconds. It looks like it's about 3PM, maybe 5PM on the bridge when Magneto is fucking shit up. Then he rips up the bridge and sets it down on the little island - and as the bridge lands it INSTANTLY 'fades' to night time.

It was so terrible. They even reduced Dark Phoenix to a friggin' henchman for Magneto. Lame.

Really? So you think classics like The Dark Phoenix Saga, The Age of Apocalypse, Days of the Future Past, and The Morlock Saga are on the same level as X-Men: The Last Stand?

I don't even know what to say. I'm am simply astounded that someone believes that the comics are on the same level as that piece of crap on film.

I actually thought that was a fantastic casting choice, despite everything else being bad. Beast is an intellectual-type personality, and who plays that better?

BTW, yeah, that Man of Steel trailer looks fan-freaking-tastic! Can't wait for that one!

And retrodude, I also enjoyed Superman Returns. But at the same time, I can definitely see where it could be improved. Namely that Superman really needed something to hit.
