I really want to join in. I'm always late to the party.
Picking up a bootlegged copy of Half-Life for the Dreamcast soon (this week?).

nice!

It took me about 10 hours to play through (I hadn't played it in about a decade  ), so I'd think 15-20 for someone who is new to the game and/or to the genre is pretty doable. Hopefully you can find the time this month!

Thanks! I've played games like it, and I have always wanted to play it myself. I remember installing it on an old Linux box and playing for an hour or so. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to keep playing. it's always been a regret.

Dave, I beat Wolf3D when we did that for TR, but never beat a "modern" FPS.

ah right, I forgot. Is that it then? How far did you get in Dark Forces?

I remember I played it on my iPad for that month. That was a bizarre experience!

jeez, not far. Level 3 or 4? I remember hating that you couldn't save except between levels. I'm enjoying this so much more. I just got thru the conveyor belt sections, on to the next level "Questionable Ethics," though I have 16 health life. Luckily I have a 2nd save further back in the conveyor belts if I have to use it.

EDIT: Also surprised to hear I'm only halfway through. I guess the game is longer than I'd have figured. I would have guessed I was like 2/3rd's by now. Guess I won't have time for Blue Shift this month!

The levels have different lengths. The one after Questionable Ethics is very long, and makes up a good chunk of the game on its own.

Looks like that's where I am now, then.

Surface Tension, the 11th level/mission.

Yeah, putting together the laser was neat. I also noticed it coming along on the ceiling, all the paths it took to the big one, I'll also admit the finale and what you had to do took a bit of thinking at first.

Surface Tension is finished, by far the longest level in the game, even longer than On A Rail. But, getting to that room with all the goods and the new weapons in that level alone, as well as the final part, made it worth the time I put in.

Apparently now, we are to "Forget About Freeman!"
