Just got into NG with a bang in the last year or so. Currently have:

JP NGCD - Region switched and Component modded by Jamma Nation X
~10-12 games for it
-2 game pads

US AES - Unibios, power led, and Component/Composite/S-Video mod by Jamma Nation X
-"Good" serial number
-4 games
-2 sticks (old style rectangular)
-Memory card (little scuffed up)

NGPC (Blue, from the Jmustang/Hobie-Wan lot)
-4-5 games? I think? Hasn't gotten here yet.

I've considered getting a CMVS (or getting an MVS and consolizing it myself) but that would open up the whole new can of worms. Right now, I'm purely consoles. If I buy an MVS, that opens up arcade collecting and I'm not sure my wallet can handle that.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

As has been mentioned, most of the time it's cheaper to get MVS games than their AES equivalents, so it's the home game collecting that's expensive and arcade collecting that's cheap when it comes to Neo Geo MVS/AES.

Since I have gotten into collecting only a few years ago, I have realized how awesome Neo Geo stuff is. Like many the cost of entry into a lot of it is a bit off putting, but I have managed to have some stuff over the years.

I had a NGPC that I put in the front light from a GBA sp. I had a U.S. AES gold system in box that has a whole story, and some drama right here on the forums. Then I got a NGCD that I was very happy with, I actually really like the hardware, and other than the fighting games being almost unplayable due to load times, most other games I tried were perfectly fine.

I had to sell the NGCD (along with a lot of other stuff) before my wedding to raise some needed funds. I just got another NGCD from a member here for very cheap, the catch is that it is not reading discs, so I ordered a new laser and hopefully it will take care of it.

What I really want is to get a big red cab for my living room to sit next to my MAME cab. The only thing holding me back is finding the right deal locally, but as soon as it comes up on craigslist, I will snatch it up.

Here's my meager NGPC collection...

^Japanese bundle (silver) w/ pachi pack-in game.

^Baseball Stars Color, Bust-A-Move Pocket, and Metal Slug 1st Mission.

It's not much, but I'm being picky about getting CIB games only. And I'm also going for US games where applicable. Which means Faselei! and Last Blade will have to be... cart only. :|

I just realized that i'd never seen an NGPC box before. Huh.

You need to get a copy of Neo Turf Masters for that thing. It's basically the only game I play on mine.

Nice start! I'm really liking those book boxes of the US games, pretty cool stuff, might have to give the NGPC more attention, particularly interested in Fantastic Night Dreams and Rockman Battle and Fighters.

I've begun the transition into AES, not getting out of MVS at all at this point, just collecting for both, but so far i've done well to avoid duplicates.

Meaning, I have Top Player's Golf and Super Spy for AES, but I don't have them on MVS. I'm waiting on a couple more to arrive and then i'll take my first pics of what I have so far.

I entered NG with the CDz and few games I kept from the big pile. I might pick up some other shmups, but that's probably about it. I opted to keep it more for S&G than as a huge NG fan.

Mutation Nation, Samurai Spirits (Shodown 2), Sonic Wings 2 & 3, and Twinkle Star Sprites.
