Yeah, the booze thing. I'm a pretty open guy so just wanted it a known thing since I know some folks drink and game. I used to myself, I used to drink and do well, anything. I've been mostly sober for 7 years and don't do anything that will actively put me in a situation where drinking may happen.

I've never been a social drinker and i'm not the person I want to be when I drink. When i'm sober, i'm assertive but pretty easy going and not trying to take most things too serious. When I used to drink, that assertiveness manifests itself into something much worse, before I piss and puke myself...everytime. So yeah, I won't have it in my home - I don't begrudge anyone else for partaking as most folks are responsible with it, but i'm not.

Let me check my schedule, Mike. I have family in the UP and I could make a circle tour before coming back down to the lower peninsula. Otherwise, this sounds exciting!

Where in MI are you? For reference, we drive to my father in law's place in Cleveland each year and always do a loop (through UP on way there and through Chicago on way back).

From us to Detroit via UP is about 12 hours.
From us to Detroit via Chicago is about 11 hours.

I'm in the Greater Detroit area, Ann Arbor to be specific. One way or another, it's not a terrible drive through Chicago, or up through the lower to the UP. I have friends and family either way, to break up the drive.

Hmm 14 hours each way for me. Thats a no go good buddy, atleast this year. Too many friends are getting married this year to swing it.

Well, if this year is a success, I plan to do something each year. My wife actually is enabling me right now as in one breath she put down the "no more cabs in the house" edict, but then on my birthday she got me a "how to build your own shed" and "how to build an addition on to your home" books.

I plan on getting the foundation and the shed frame / roof done this year, and then next year i'll outfit it w/drywall and electric (no plumbing). It'll be more detached gameroom than shed with plenty of room of room for a few cabs.

Best of luck with this! We've done one at my house the last two years and it was a lot of fun (as was the one in NYC I attended). Of course in NY we went to a Barcade
