As I said, I hadn't really seen the show when I saw the movie, and I always thought complaining about the names was stupid. Aside from Aang, the others were how I thought they were pronounced when I read about the show, and in fact, Shaymalan asked an asian linguist how they should be pronounced. Really, even if the show's creators just made all the names up as they claim, if you're going to use asian-style names, you ought to pronounce them asian-style. Now, as I'm watching the show, I have to actively try to ignore the fact that they're pronouncing them wrong. Sorry.

Unbreakable is a film that is well crafted, well executed, but it nearly bored me to death. It is a good film, but I checked my watch more than I checked the screen while watching it (and it is a 90 movie). I know I'm in the super minority when it comes to this, but Unbreakable was so predictable I felt all the movie did was waste my time.

And yet I enjoyed REAL MEN, so there you go.

Sure, it can be extremely dull, but I think it's a better executed movie than many of Shyamalan's later films. I'd rather he go back to predictable but well done as opposted to predictable and aggravating.

Can we just agree M. Night made one decent film, agree to disagree what that one film might be, and leave it at that?

Unbreakable wasn't supposed to be a trilogy.

...Ya know what? I think it being somewhat dull was a big plus for many comic book readers. They enjoyed the fact the movie and script took the time to take comics and superheroes seriously and not have a film where flying dudes fight robot aliens for 90 minutes. Everything is overly fleshed out, and more people than not loved that about the film.

...That ain't sayin' much.

I hated ASM. Peter Parker was so unlikeable throughout the entire movie that it just ruined it for me. The action scenes were well done, but it just wasn't enough. I was especially disappointed because I know the two screenwriters can do a whole lot better, but I sincerely hope the sequel will be better because it was written by Orci/Kurtzman and I'm a big fan of theirs.
