From Beyond
Two amazing movies based off of H.P. Lovecraft's work...
May have a marathon coming up weekend after next. This weekend is going to be a Stanley Kubrick marathon, as Cara hasn't seen a single one of these movies. :|
Throw in The Resurrected (1991). It is a surprisingly solid horror film, and a great H.P. Lovecraft adaptation.

How have I gone 27 years without seeing this? Loved it.

Underworld: Whatever the most recent one is.

I think this was the 4th? I skipped the one that took place in medieval times or whatever but I've seen the rest. I think this might be the best one. FX have gotten good enough that they can now do more cool action sequences within their budget, which is all that's really mattered in this series. But seriously, how many shots are there of Selene falling from the top of the screen and landing in a cool pose? There were at least 7 in this film.

Wait, what?

You mean the one where there's the little girl that's kind of like Michael? Michael and Selene's daughter? That one?

Because that one is probably the worst one of the bunch. It's awful. The best is the first one, clearly but the medieval one - Rise of the Lycans is cool because it centers on Lucian's story. It's actually quite good. The 2nd one is dumb, and that one with the daughter - again I'm assuming that's the newest one - was awful. AWFUL.

I've seen all three MIB movies before. I was just trying to find something on TV last night.

You missed an incredible Bar Rescue Marathon in that case.

I guess I liked the most recent one because it had the least amount of "fantasy" elements. It felt more sci-fi. Story wise I didn't think any of them were good. The 2nd one did have some cool kills with that guy who could fly though.
