In my opinion at least, I think that "false flag" and other conspiracy theories provide comfort to people who cannot accept the horrifying reality that acts of terror can be perpetrated by any person with the means and will to commit them. In other words, there is comfort in the belief a sinister organization is behind acts like the JFK assassination, the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11, Sandy Hook, etc. You can confront something like that directly. Eradicating evil and violence from society at large is much more difficult.

This is horrific i am watching the news now and am amazed that they feel it is ok to show a guy with his leg blown off and the massive blood stained area just for shock value. I send prayers out to those that were hurt and killed.

Just heard about this and definitely pains me to hear that this is happening. My biggest concern is for those who are out there in Boston, but I also have concerns about how people could misconstrue the facts or jump to conclusions. I'm sticking to non-cable news stations of NBC and CBS and everyone seems to be handling the situation with tact and dealing only with what they know, focusing more on the personal stories of eyewitnesses.

Seems like there is a suspect though: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/a ... PDGIjYBalOLuke wrote:CNN and Fox news. Big surprise right?dsheinem wrote:what shitty news station is naming any suspect or suspect organization? Luke, I'd suggest switching your news network...
Another reason I like NPR, who reported "Three explosions took place in Boston today, We will report on this matter when we have more information".
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I'm not sure that's up for debate considering the police did a controlled detonation on the third bomb.Luke wrote:That said, I think it was a planned attack so there is that.

Police have apparently caught a Saudi national in the area who is a suspect. The deal is also apparently when Patriot's Day is celebrated in Massachusetts, which is what the conspiracy theorists are raving about.

I'm sad to see this kind of stuff. I'd like to make a more eloquent statement, but expressing myself when it comes to these kinds of things is a bit hard.
