Intellegent Cube is one of my all time favorite puzzle game with endless replay value. Great game.

Also i agree...Tetris is classic and deserves some recognition. Some of the spin-off's like Tetris-sphere and Wetrix are awesome.

Bust a Move is the other title I'd metion. The first game and Bust A Move 4 are awesome versions of the game. However most of the sequels really didn't add anything to the mix...they feel like the same old thing over and over.

First of all, # 1 i pick Dr. Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. Its great, i used to play it with 2 of my friends + a computer player for a 4 player simultaneous duel !!!

Does Bomberman count? If so, i pick Bomberman Online for the Sega Dreamcast

Third, I pick Classic Tetris

Fourth i pick Bust a Move, my favorite being Bust a Move 4 for the Sega Dreamcast.

I'd argue that whilst Dr Mario is a Tetris spin-off, Wetrix isn't. I don't think Wetrix would exist if it wasn't for Tetris but it's far enough removed to be considered a game type on its own.

I never really liked Dr Mario. I can't help feeling the game would have just slipped off the radar if it wasn't for the Mario branding.

I really like Guru Logic Champ on the GBA and would you consider Peggle a puzzle game?

What I'd really like to see is a Puzzle Game Family Tree done by date and influence, that'd be cool.

EDIT: Just been thinking there are loads of other puzzle games around like Gunpey, Slitherlink and the millions Sudoku clones on the DS.

I'd also add Twinkle Star Sprites as an amazing Puzzle/shmup hybrid.

And I always though Wetrix was a Tetris spin-off...but whatev's its a sweet game either way.
