The disappointing part is how Wii version Mega Man 9 and 10 are only 480i.
Neither 240p for SD CRT users, or 480p to avoid de-interlacing on an HDTV.
At least 360/PS3 get the latter.

Never really played MM9 so I never noticed this, but I've had it on my Wii for a while.theclaw wrote:The disappointing part is how Wii version Mega Man 9 and 10 are only 480i.

Fired it up with the Wii in 480p mode and wow, you're totally right!
WTF, 480i only, that's just silly.

The Art Style series of games are fantastic. Nicely designed puzzle games with a cool aesthetic.o.pwuaioc wrote: Also, now that we're confronted with potentially losing everything, what's the best Wiiware titles? I already know I want Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. What other exclusives are there?
Other notable games:
Art of Balance: Puzzle game about balancing various shapes.
Bit.Trip Series : Great series of games with chiptune music, but maybe cheaper on disc now.
Bonsai Barber: Simple little game about giving vegetables haircuts.
Blaster Master Overdrive: Solid remake/reimagining of blaster master
Bubble Bobble plus: 4 player Bubble Bobble
Castlevania: Adventure Rebirth: Great new Castlevania in the classic NES style.
Contra Rebirth: Solid new Contra game.
Excitebike World Rally: Good update of the NES classic
FFCC: My life as a King & My life as a Dark Lord: Hit and miss, but well developed management sim and tower defence games.
Flowerworks: Weird little game about growing flowers by shooting stuff.
Fluidity/Hydroventure (same game, name depends which region you're in): Tilt controlled metroidvania style game where you play as a puddle.
Gradius Rebirth: Solid new Gradius game.
Kyotokei: Decent shmup that totally rips off Ikarugas gimmick.
Lostwinds & Lostwinds: Winter of the Melodias: Pretty platformers with a nice atmosphere.
MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade: Interesting puzzle game where players can interact with each other.
MotoHeroz: Half racing game, half Trials game. Made by the Trials HD guys. Awful name.
NyxQuest: Platform adventure, nicely designed.
Rage of the Gladiator: Kinda like Punch Out, but with medusas and cyclops.
Swords and Soldiers: Awesome 2D RTS game.
Toki Tori: Great remake of the GBC puzzle game.
Tomena Sanner: Weird one button high score fest by Konami.
World of Goo: Awesome construction puzzle game.
You, Me & The Cubes: Bizarre puzzle game where you must fling miis at cubes to make them balance. By the guy who made D.

Re: Nintendo shutting down some Wii services
I jumped into the Wii too late, I only bought mine back in October but I should have had one much earlier. I have found so many great games that never made their way onto 360 or PS3. To see things go from the last gen is always sad, I almost shed a tear when I played my last game of Halo 2 online
. BUT! I am going to use my tax return to maybe but a Wii U and give it a go:)
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)
Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping!

Konami's variouis ReBirth games are great, especially Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth.o.pwuaioc wrote: Also, now that we're confronted with potentially losing everything, what's the best Wiiware titles? I already know I want Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. What other exclusives are there?
I also enjoyed Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord. Probably the last time I ever enjoyed something with the Final Fantasy name.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm confused, won't the VC games be available on WiiU anyway? If we miss purchasing them on the Wii.

All the Wii downloads should work in the WiiU. The Nintendo Store has a free download utility that transfers your game saves and downloads from the Wii to the WiiU. I am guessing that it would switch the account over to the WiiU, not sure if both consoles would still play the downloads after the transfer.winds wrote:I'm confused, won't the VC games be available on WiiU anyway? @ alienjesus - Concur with the Bit Trip series, a great game! The disc is the best way to go. It includes a bonus soundtrack CD and no worries of the transfer download dilemma.

The Wii "donor" console loses the games in the transfer. The account and games then reside on the WiiU much in the same way they did on the Wii before, with the same limitations.CRTGAMER wrote: All the Wii downloads should work in the WiiU. I believe they're rolling out the NES and SNES portions of the eShop for WiiU later this month as well.
