I have a friend who is competitive with Street Fighter 2. He only uses Guile, haha.

Guile was the strongest character in Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting; so, I really can't blame you friend. (Guile was weakened considerably in Super Street Fighter and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.)

Oh, didn't people dislike Mega Collection Plus's poor Mega Drive emulation for the PS2 version, lack of Sonic CD and pale in comparison to Sonic Jam, while Gems Collection had the great Sonic CD but not so great Sonic R, Sonic t, the Fighters and the Game Gear games and only had the American Soundtrack for Sonic CD and both had arguably poor Game Gear emulation? I could be wrong though, and if people generally think they're awesome then great!
I guess my only gripes of the collections is that they're still missing some games like SegaSonic the Hedgehog (justified since they couldn't emulate a trackball on a modern controller, but there's still no legal way of playing it), Sonic Eraser and Knuckle's Chaotix (which they had NO excuse to not put in, except maybe that they weren't proud of KC because they didn't technically make it; another SEGA team did). And it only makes me wish for a proper "Gems" Collection with KC, Eraser & SegaSonic, and maybe other games like Pocket Adventure.

Gee, I think Sonic R is actually pretty good... You just have to play it like a racing game instead of a Sonic game.

It takes a lot of time to get the controls right. The game is really really really hard, but my pride enjoy is to actually unlock all the characters, was such a pain in the ass. Plus, the tag mode was awesome!

Late one night, at a meeting deep in their Lair of Evil, Capcom executives wanted money. But what would get them that money? They puzzled, and puzzed, till their puzzlers were sore. But then one thought of something they hadn't before.

"What if we put all the regular Mega Man games onto one disc? Not the X games, they'll get their own collection, not the Zero series, we're already working on that one for a console that hasn't been released yet, not the Legends games, no one likes them. The Mega Man games. Not the Game Boy ones either, the console ones. And we'll put them on one disc and sell it for $50. It's good, cheap money! What say you gents?"

Some of the murmurs of agreement that followed this soon split off and began arguing amongst themselves about which bits of the most recent Street Fighter game needed to be changed, as often happened at Capcom meetings, but overall, the response to the executive's venture was remarkably positive.

"Let's get Shinji Mikami to direct the project!" called one suit-wearing moneyman. "He's never let us down!"

The next day....

"...And that’s what we need you to do,” said the executive chosen to inform Mr. Mikami. “Are you a bad enough dude to make a Mega Man game?”

“Yes sir!” saluted Shinji Mikami. “But I have one request.”

“What?”

“I’m going to have to switch the buttons for jumping and shooting things.”

“Why?”

“Because boobs. And to make things more challenging for the player, like in Resident Evil. Hard controls make a hard game.”

"Excellent. Carry on then."
your shinji mikami impression is spot-on!

It is not "rare" for a licensed game to be good. Sure a lot of the shovelware will be licensed, but just about every year the industry releases several good licensed games.

MM Anniversary, MM Zero 3, MM 9, MM (GB), Maverick Hunter X(That's the only one I've beaten)
I usually get killed more by being shot than pits or spikes usually. I may be wrong though, I haven't played those games in a while.
Either way, it seems I'm the only one who liked that control scheme.

I LIKE being penalized for dying in an MMO. I think I should drop my items, money, lose Exp, be sent back to town, etc. This gave me a reason to Bank my important items, and be careful when playing the game. Most new MMO's don't even slap you on the wrist anymore, because too many people whine about losing their rare/expensive items.

I don't know, maybe I'm just a masochist.

All the whiners are just wusses. If a game doesn't punish you, what's the point of playing? To have fun? Bah. As I said, wusses.
