More maniac progress, finally realizing how much getting to and staying in devil rank is essential to scoring... No miss through stages 1&2. But still have trouble with stage 3; lost 2 lives here. Then made up for it big time by no missing stage 4, which made for a good chunk of points. Stage 5 was a complete mess though. Got to the boss, but lost all remaining lives getting there... I wish the game had a practice mode...

AWWWWHH YEEEAH!

Time to dust off the ol' game once again. Stage 5 is by far one of the easiest levels in the game on Maniac. You'll get thru it in no time. Once you get to Stage 6, then you can mess up all you want ;)
I don't know if having a practice mode would be beneficial to the games replayability in the longrun. Maybe an unlockable level select would suit better?

You really think so? The couple times I have made it past stage 5, I pretty much 'shielded' all through the 1st half, and barely shot anything through the "maze" in the 2nd half (to avoid destroying the walls). Someday I'd like to preserve shields AND shoot (nearly) everything in sight... (Here's to hoping.) :)

I don't think is would hurt replayability; definitely not with me anyway. Nearly every other DC shooter has some sort of practice mode. Sometimes it's in the form of a Score Attack or something, but it serves the same purpose. And of course it should be unlockable. Any stage you can get to with 1 credit would unlock that stage for practice is typically how it's done. Actually, I think a practice mode helps these games by being more convenient and less redundant; imo. Plus there's still Omake mode. :D

Most def! It's the only level for me (aside from levels 1 and 2) where I feel can take a breather and relax throughout the the entire stage (especially after dealing with a Devil Rank Stage 4 completion). Aside from the maze itself which isn't a big deal, there isn't a major enemy threat aside from the 2 times the stage boss appears and drops those lil' bastards that scatter bullets everywhere.

Scores should be updated as of this post. If I messed up, kindly let me know.

Practice mode would be pretty nice to have for this game. I'll probably get back to Fast Striker once I'm happy with my espgaluda score and/or 1cc it.

Improvement in both modes. :D

9,104,501,010 - ChrisH2049 - ALL - 1460 - DC - Original
ALL cleared on last life again. No miss up to stage 4 boss...then it turned sloppy. :x I suspect a lot of bonus points were missed because of several stupid deaths. Happy to break 9billion, but could probably do 10b in my potential perfect run.

6,637,983,000 - ChrisH2049 - Stage 6 - 1469 - DC - Maniac
BIG improvement here. Lost 1 life in stage 3. But everything else was about perfect up to stage 5...again. More "secrets found" makes a significant difference I guess. I mean, I was at 5.8billion after stage 4 (+400mil improvement already). Game over just before stage 6's 1st boss.

Killin it man! I'll be happy to break 5bil on original mode. I'll have to put up a maniac score sooner than later too.
