Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Gems Collection (PS2 VERSIONS) are awesome and so are Sonic R (wait, already mentioned that) and Sonic the Fighters.
Even though it should have bloody included Knuckles Chaotix... (ooh, speaking of)

Only compilation I'm aware of that people outright hate seems to be the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Gamecube, because they swapped A and B for some reason.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Of course they're awesome. I wasn't aware that people hated them...

Sonic the Fighters? Really? I played that at an arcade in Vegas and it was pretty lame.BitFaced wrote:Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Gems Collection (PS2 VERSIONS) are awesome and so are Sonic R (wait, already mentioned that) and Sonic the Fighters.

Yes, they swapped them, but I got over it in about 20 minutes. The G4 Icons episode on Megaman which was the GC-exclusive bonus was well worth it.AppleQueso wrote:Only compilation I'm aware of that people outright hate seems to be the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Gamecube, because they swapped A and B for some reason.

I actually liked that. If you're playing a game where you do more shooting than jumping, then you might as well map the shooting to the larger button.AppleQueso wrote:Only compilation I'm aware of that people outright hate seems to be the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Gamecube, because they swapped A and B for some reason.

Uhhh, how many Mega Man games have you played? You die a whole lot more from falling into pits and spikes than you do from actually getting your health depleted by enemies. You do A LOT of jumping.3DSStrider wrote:I actually liked that. -Megaman X Command Mission is the best MMX game after X4.
-The majority of critically-acclaimed mainstream games do not appeal to me, at all!
-I loath the 3D MK games so much. The character designs are pretty much fucked up in those games, when compared to their classic iterations.
-I love using low tier characters in most fighting games. With that said, I can't stand using some high-tiers.

this is exactly what i was thinking. why did they switch the mapping of the buttons anyway? is there a story behind it?BurningDoom wrote:Uhhh, how many Mega Man games have you played? Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Late one night, at a meeting deep in their Lair of Evil, Capcom executives wanted money. But what would get them that money? They puzzled, and puzzed, till their puzzlers were sore. But then one thought of something they hadn't before.aaron wrote: this is exactly what i was thinking. why did they switch the mapping of the buttons anyway? is there a story behind it?
"What if we put all the regular Mega Man games onto one disc? Not the X games, they'll get their own collection, not the Zero series, we're already working on that one for a console that hasn't been released yet, not the Legends games, no one likes them. The Mega Man games. Not the Game Boy ones either, the console ones. And we'll put them on one disc and sell it for $50. It's good, cheap money! What say you gents?"
Some of the murmurs of agreement that followed this soon split off and began arguing amongst themselves about which bits of the most recent Street Fighter game needed to be changed, as often happened at Capcom meetings, but overall, the response to the executive's venture was remarkably positive.
"Let's get Shinji Mikami to direct the project!" called one suit-wearing moneyman. "He's never let us down!"
The next day....
"...And that’s what we need you to do,” said the executive chosen to inform Mr. Mikami. “Are you a bad enough dude to make a Mega Man game?”
“Yes sir!” saluted Shinji Mikami. “But I have one request.”
“What?”
“I’m going to have to switch the buttons for jumping and shooting things.”
“Why?”
“Because boobs. And to make things more challenging for the player, like in Resident Evil. Hard controls make a hard game.”
"Excellent. Carry on then."
