To keep this away from the very long build thread on this site, I thought it made sense to start a new topic, to present the final product; otherwise the post would get lost.
Here is the video link, enabling viewing the video in larger screen mode. The screen adjusts to your screen monitor, "F11" to full-screen if you prefer.

The presentation covers the system in a fair bit of detail and also provides a demonstration of the system working.
I hope you enjoy the video!

*bows down before greatness*
It has been fun watching this come together, but even then I had no idea how awesome the final project would actually be in action. The NES cart controller interface is a stroke of genius and the ease of switching between systems is just spectacular. I am thoroughly impressed and insanely jealous. The final thing looks very clean and professional, IMO.
I may have missed it, but is there a player 2 controller?
So you are doing these on comission now, right? Let me know!

I am so pleased that you liked the presentation, it's the best one I have ever made.
No, system is 1 player only, to have made it 2 player would have meant 3 sets of 9 contacts per system, and that would have been unreliable on the switching unit.
This is a one-off system, i'll not be doing another of these units again, I think my wife would leave me if I did! lol

I figured as much on both counts!
And nice choice of Psycho Pinball!

Psycho Pinball is one of my favourite games.

Congratulations!
Looks rather impressive. Certainly were a lot of hours poured into that project

Re: Project Unity - finished - presentation the system
I have a hard enough time putting 35 hours into a video game anymore, let alone 3500 into building a system. This is an amazing unit. I can only imagine how it feels to finally have this finished.
I may have missed it in an earlier video, but i'm just curious - Where did you put the memory cards?

Re: Project Unity - finished - presentation the system
Some memory cards are included in the controller unit (DreamCast, N64), and others are hard-wired to the console's memory card ports (Playstation 2 (one memory card PS1, other PS2), GameCube. Saturn has card inserted onto the motherboard as had space for it. So all covered.
