You can play rockband with any of the guitar hero guitars.

I've always been of the opinion that rockband is one of the greatest games of all time. The thrill of making music with no barrier to entry. Rockband 3 might just be one of the 10 best games ever made, IMO. That game literally taught me how to play guitar. Real guitar.

Then maybe I should check out the Rock Band games.

Well, that depends on whether you consider that a guitar or not :P

It's a real fender stratocaster, with real pickups, that can be connected to a real amp. How is it in any way not a real guitar?

I wasn't really being serious man, thus the :P

Is that really a Fender Strat though? Odd, those usually go for at least $600, assuming its an American Standard Strat, and assuming it is used... and thats still on the low end. And Strats usually have 3 single-coil pickups with a 5-way switch.

^Exactly. And I am razzing the guy a tad.

"Literally" and "epic" might be used correctly 1% of the time on this forum.

It's a real strat. I'm addition to having the PlayStation pickups attached to the back under the normal pickups, it functions like a normal strat. It retailed for $400. It is made of wood and everything.

If you wanted to learn real guitar but didn't want to shell out that much, there was also a plastic squire sold for $100. That one couldn't be connected to an amp, but could work as a midi guitar.

Huh, that is pretty sweet. I have done some recording through the effects in the Rocksmith game, and it was pretty nice. Its definitely a great tool for people new to guitar.

I still say that is not a real strat. Mayyybe a MIM Standard, but even those retail higher than that game costs new. Its likely a Strat Squire or Strat Starcaster, which is still a playable guitar... but its not a Strat.

Again, it was just an off-the-cuff comment, I wasn't trying to knock ya or anything. I would consider my guitar a "real" guitar either, and I paid more for it than you did for that game.
