Ok, Simple Mode:

CFFJR 19,054,680 Stage 3 Type 1

I've only played the game for about half an hour at this point. Got it running, tried a bit of both simple and original mode, jumped on here to reread DocHauser's info on scoring (thanks for that by the way), played some more, and that score represent my first real attempt.

I want to practice with Simple mode more and try to clear it, but I did get a taste of Original mode and I can't wait to move up to it.

I already love this game, seriously. Its gorgeous, the music is lovely, and its just so damn fun.

Original Mode all clear. 8)

It's always slightly disappointing when you 1CC a game and realise that it doesn't actually beat your non-clear high score, but here are my two best scores...

ORIGINAL MODE

DocHauser - 272,986,351,140 - Ex Boss 2 - x14167 - Type Z

DocHauser - 263,485,928,530 - All Clear!! - x13343 - Type Z

I was struggling against the TLB (particularly the first Ex Boss) for a while, until I stumbled across a good strategy. This also works well against the Stage 3 boss, when it does the laser attack (using this method, you shouldn't even have to circle around it, because you'll keep cancelling the lasers):

Against bosses, it's tempting to go into Break Mode as soon as possible, to try and take it down quicker - this is fine against the Stage 1, 2 and 4 boss. For Stage 3 and the TLB (maybe the normal Stage 5 boss as well) it's useful to let the Break Meter fill up until about 90-95% then hit the bomb. This will cancel all the bullets on-screen and give you a few seconds to fill the bomb meter again and repeat the same trick. It makes the Stage 3 boss and the TLB a lot easier...

OK, time to work on that Type I original clear now...

Good news! The Crimzon Clover arcade game has been released. So, if anyone's visiting Japan in the near future, be sure and check it out. :)

(I might be able to report on it soon if I can find an arcade in Kyoto that has it.)

Newest scores this week!

SIMPLE MODE

ExedExes - 38,221,080 - Stage 4 - Type I

Not only did I no miss Stage 1 *and* Stage 2, I did right by taking the advice of DH and
grabbing the extra star items at the end of the stage instead of the extend, the extra points end up giving you the extends anyway.

ORIGINAL MODE

ExedExes - 22,668,187,450 - Stage 3 - x4640 - Type I

I watched that Stage 1 12 billion video many times on YouTube, but I only managed to get 7.5b. Fortunately, my Stage 2 performance went well also. But, I missed at least 3 chances to Double Break in Stage 3 by milliseconds

I also went through the forum and dug up the absolute best score(s) of all who played so far this month. Here is the current score list until Bruno can get around to it (I'll also PM him a copy):

SIMPLE MODE
DocHauser - 119,610,800 - ALL - Type Z
dsheinem - 42,637,630 - Stage 5 (boss) - Type I
jepjepjep - 42,909,040 - Stage 5 - Type I
ExedExes - 38,221,080 - Stage 4- Type I
mjmjr25 - 36,220,370 - Stage 5 (boss) - Type I
CFFJR - 19,054,680 - Stage 3 - Type I

ORIGINAL MODE
DocHauser - 272,986,351,140 - Ex Boss 2 - x14167 - Type Z
ExedExes - 22,668,187,450 - Stage 3 - x4640 - Type I

UNLIMITED MODE
DocHauser - 58,710,660,310 - Stage 3 - x10039 - Type Z

Is there a patch for 1.01 floating around the internet? The official link is 404'ing.

Also, check your copy's version number. 1.00 was the original release, but 1.01 has automatic replay recording and many bug fixes -- get the patch here.

Do Type Z scores get their own board, or is it just seperated by mode?
