Made more known by one of the earliest examples of viral videos out there. Full of Toaplan-y goodness! Plus, I recently found out that Williams Electronics licensed the arcade game from Toaplan. This means that 1) This Toaplan game was not licensed by Taito and 2) The arcade output from Williams was going down by 1990.

Not a quote from a famous game, but just more random trivia from your pal Exed.

Some people say Zero Wing is a good game but I've played it and it was the biggest excercise in moving right while pressing "fire" I've ever seen in a shooter.

I think Hellfire is far better than Zero Wing.

I just find it funny that people that wouldn't even recognize the term "shmup" or developers like Toaplan, would still know this gaming quote.

Zero Wing! It's not that unknown (well, not anymore).
In ratio with the infamous quote, yeah it's pretty unknown. A lot of people have no idea where the meme comes from.

Yeah, "that came from Zero Wing" followed by "what the heck is Zero Wing?"
I will also agree on Hellfire. That game needs more love. Heck, a lot of older shmups need more love. I'm glad that I was in some way responsible for that here, but in exchange, you all showed me not all bullet hell modern shmups are terribly difficult. What a cultural exchange!

Here's mine. I've got alot of em.

1. Tekken 4 is an excellent addition to the series
2. I hate the Dreamcast controller. It's a piece of shit.
3. I love the Wii despite it being a little flawed.
4. I love Castlevania Judgement
5. I love Clayfighter
6. Like RPG's, but don't give a rat's ass for Final Fantasy or any form of an MMO.
7. Halo sucks.
8. Star Fox Assault is awesome and the ground missions, while very simple are fun.
9. Sonic Adventure 2 sucks.
10. Screw the Pokemon games.
11. Game consoles need to go back to using cartridges. They're more durable, would cut down on costs to produce the console itself due to not needing an optical drive (and also mean less moving parts to screw up) and flash memory now can hold just as much as a Blu Ray. I see no reason not to have consoles go back to cartridges.

I'm sure I've got some more unique ones but as of now I've only been awake for about 10 minutes.
Going through deleting inactive accounts of mine as a security precaution. No hard feelings, but admins, if it is possible to delete this account, please do so. Thanks in advance!

Ah, but which ClayFighter? ClayFighter, ClayFighter: Tournament Edition, C2: Judgement Clay, ClayFighter 63 1/3, or ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut?

Portable systems have all already switched over to flash memory solutions. If it was economical to do it on consoles, they would've already done it.

Optical drives simply aren't that expensive to make, and I think you're seriously underestimating just how insanely cheap optical media is to produce.

Besides, I don't see why they'd change media formats when they're trying to transition to a digital distribution model anyway.
