I checked the 5 screw gyromite already and no luck.

Check the rest of the black labels.

He is right on the pin thing, I find em like that too.

Last question, how about that sealed Pal version a nice member of this forum sold me? Is it going nuts too?

By the way, I have an NTSC open copy, got for 40 also. It isnt going anywhere.

Done hijacking the thread!

For a change of pace I decided to buy a large lot of games instead of trying my luck at thrift stores or buying individual games. I got 120 NES carts in the mail today. They came from a former rental store and all have stickers and maker on them (thankfully not on the labels). It's going to take some time but I should be able to clean them up and get them in good shape. I'm pretty pissed that they were shipped without any bubble wrap or anything and a couple of carts were damaged not to mention the box wreaks of cigarette smoke and the condition of a lot of the carts is not nearly as good as the seller put in the add. Still, with this I'm adding roughly 90 to my collection and quite a few will complete the empty box w/instructions I already have. Also, a lot of the are not the typical common junk I usually come across. I'll sell off the doubles to make up for some of the cost. I was really stoked because the add mentioned "Flintstones" and the guy didn't seem to know diddly about NES games so I was hoping perhaps Surprise at Dinosaur Peak but it's just Dino & Hoppy. Oh well. The big winner in the lot is Gargoyle's Quest II. Some other decent ones include Mike Tyson's Punch-out, Contra, The Legend of Zelda, and River City Ransom. I paid roughly $3.50 per cart (including shipping) so do the math on what I spent. Even with the work it will take to clean these up, overall it was still a good deal to me.

And for a whopping $36 at the thrift stores...I don't know why but I can't pass up a Gamecube for under $10, especially with power cord and AV cable. I feel like I'm running a homeless shelter for these things.

"Oh great, another box of useless sh*t."

Main Collection: http://connect.collectorz.com/users/ynjmwil/games?viewCollection=in-collection - Not looking to move anything on this list but would entertain offers.

Many years ago a friend who knew I was into video games came across his old Game Gear and gave it to me.

Today, my roommate (who was hanging out with this friend yesterday) goes "Oh, Steve sent a box of Super Nintendo stuff for you. He's trying to pare down some old stuff cuz he's starting to figure he'll be moving eventually for school" -- this is a guy whose parents both died a number of years ago, relatively young, and his grandparents are getting on in age too.

So I open it up, and there's a deck (very old one - thinking I might try to do the YPbPr hack with it) and a whole pile of RPGs. I mean there's an easy $200-300 worth of games in here. Lufia, Lufia 2, FF3, Mega Man X, Breath of Fire, Breath of Fire 2, Secret of Mana... I seriously couldn't believe my eyes. And most of them I didn't have (other than I THINK I already had Super Metroid... gotta check), my SNES collection has never been good, I've always focused on the NES.

Need to figure out how to say thanks. This guy's not the type who would accept cash for it (apparently the group tried to convince him to just have me sell the stuff for him - I'm doing that for a different friend, those his is mostly hardware, soon - and he said no, he just wanted to give it to me), so I need to like... take him to a really nice dinner or something. Or buy him something nice. Because wow.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread
