Yes, since it did see release on two of the major consoles of the day, PS2 and Xbox. Soul Calibur 2 also wouldn't be a bad choice, nor one of the GTAs, Splinter Cell, Need for Speed: Underground, Metal Gear Solid(if we include the GC remake as a choice, which puts it into that era), and others.

Man, none of those seem like they should be "Retro" picks just yet...at least to me That said, I could get behind GTA3, MGS, or Splinter Cell. Not sure if SC2 needs to be done (we did SC1). What makes you think NFS:U is special?
I don't necessarily, but the point of TR is to go for well known games we might not have played, and it did sell well enough to be in the Top 10 for the Xbox.
SC2 I think is a good choice because it improved on the SC formula, saw release on everything, and features the console-specific characters to mix things up.
For what it's worth, Riviera: The Promised Land was first released in 2002 in Japan for the Wonderswan, so that's probably the newest game we've played for together retro. The GBA release wasnt until 2004 in Japan, and 2005 in the US.
I have no problems addressing PS2, XBox and Gamecube as retro when the Wii U is already out and the PS4 and new Xbox are due out some time this financial year. 2 generations is my cut-off in general.
As for PC, I just base that around which console generation was the main one at the time.

Nah, don't worry about it. Several of us discussing it are the guys who make decisions regarding what games will be played. Sorry to derail the thread. Good luck with Blast Pit!
