noiseredux vs. Dreamcast ....version 3.0?
Re: noiseredux vs. Sega
I thought that Dux 1.5 was supposed to solve all the problems with Dux? Man, it's been a while since we had this discussion.
Re: noiseredux vs. Sega
I didn't like Dux, but am curious about Dux 1.5
Dux 1.5 comes "free" with some versions of ReDux:Dark Matters (a new game), which I kickstarted. I think it is supposed to finally arrive this month. I don't know if Dux 1.5 is also available separately.

It is being sold seperately. Dated for release April 22. Redux has yet to have a concrete release date.

Truth be told, given that this is Dreamcast homebrew and not from NG.Dev.Team, I expect to wait at least 6 more months past this first "release date" before I actually get a copy.CD AGES wrote:It is being sold seperately. Dated for release April 22. Redux has yet to have a concrete release date.

Apologies for the late response. I seriously missed your post until recently checking previous posts on this thread. In any event.mjmjr25 wrote:@CD - I was being sarcastic. I simply loathe DUX, which is tough for me to do, i'm a big fan of DC and of shmups, so to loathe something means it's really just rough, for me anyways.
Now when you say you'll get it free, is this like a DLC or something or are you getting a physical game?
Oh I see. I seriously though you were jokingly referring to the developer's latest project "Ghost Blade" which pretty much falls onto everything you were sarcastically requesting
The possibility of a Dux update has been hinted since back in early 2011. The original game desperately needed it. Besides many of the games obvious issues, the most overlooked yet possibly worst problem that the game suffers from is a bug in the first level that compromises the players score. Obviously such an issue completely kills the the most important purpose of the game, playing for a high score. This pretty much kills the games replayability. When the issue was discovered after the games release, the game's lead designer Rene Hellwig stated that they would work on releasing a fixed version of the game and re-release it, yet to those who purchased the Original Dux would receive it for free. After much time passed by with no news on this fixed version, a new release titled "Redux: Dark Matters" was announced as a kickstarter project creating much confusion. A significant remake of Dux, Redux appears to be a visually updated, fast past, more action packed version on the original. Almost immediately, it was announced that the collectors edition of Redux would be packed with what was known as Dux 1.5
Fast forward last week, an announcement trailer for a standalone Dux 1.5 was released with some significant info regarding it. Info like an April 22 release date, as well as indication the game appears to have been slightly updated. Re-tweaked gameplay including instant re-spawning (removing those pesky slow checkpoint transitions), custom control config options as well as a brand new soundtrack.
Here's the link to the official trailer.
Considering I supported HuCast by purchasing the original game, and clearly remembering their promise to release a fixed version free of charge to those that purchased Dux, I asked a simple question on the comments section of the trailer. Luckily, I got a quick response from Hellwig himself.

So this gives them a street date into September now, should they want it. I'm guessing 2014 (maybe).Redux won't make it out this month since we had some heavy kickbacks during development. But the good news is that we're on a good way to finish Stage 7. When the extra stage is done, we we'll take some extra time to play test the hell out of the game to make Redux a flawless gaming expierence.
New release date is Summer 2013. From now on we'll keep you up to date very frequently here at kickstarter and our twitter and facebook.

I don't have Pink Bullets. I have a feeling you might be upset with me when I get around to blogging about Last Hope though.
