The reason being that though these are small studios, I think it should be lucrative for such releases. If it were, then we'd get way more releases. If folks were making profits instead of just doing it for labor of love, then really the DC has no reason to ever die. It's a competent 2D powerhouse. Amiright? I mean "/obvious" right?
2D and 3D powerhouse. A game company would to come up with something innovative instead of yet another SHMUP on the Dreamcast. Indie games are convenient inexpensive downloads on newer systems so a new Dreamcast game has really got to shine to cost fifty bucks.

Bring in the rest of the Naomi or even the Hikaru Arcade games that were not released on the Dreamcast! I would love to see Airline Pilots or Planet Harriers.

Don't forget Brave Firefighters (with some of the nicest fire graphics ever), NASCAR Arcade (for the time it was fun!) and Air Trix, a worthy sequel to Top Skater. Loved the grading system in that.

Why oh why does a Wiimote-Nunchuck combo still cost $60 new? I just want to play some old Wii games and have a way to play future WiiU FPS games. :x

I think you answered your own question, the same Wii controllers also works with the newer WiiU. I noticed the peg hooks are full of Blue boxed WiiUmotes and WiiU Nunchucks that tag as also compatible to the Wii. Not sure if the same SKU, maybe the older Wii packaging might be on clearance at some stores?

I'm still waiting for the PDP Pelican Classic White Wii branded controller to go on clearance at Target. I mean come on, those "Wii" controllers only work on the older vertical units and the Gamecube.

Menegrothx wrote: You have a very twisted view of garbage. I can understand not liking the way the game plays, the endings or how outdated the game is graphically, but garbage? Well implemented RPG system, freedom of choiche in how you play the game and in how you approach different missions and problems, The Dev Team Thinks of Everything, well researched and believable setting and excellent writing. Even if you dislike the story and characters, you can't deny the fact that the writing is superb and "deep".
Was on vacation, so late reply.

I did add in a skin upgrade that helped a little graphically, but environments were ugly boxes, even compared to other games of the day. The hangar/ship level was especially bad. Blocky shitty boxes and ship. Railed crane with less detail than one made out of Wal-Mart (or other huge retail) stores. That ridiculous huge cooling fan/vent combo that connected to a tiny shaft to the other side. Horrible racial stereotypes.

Moving people, they have to be empty as I recall. So if you're going for stealthy you have to empty them before you can move the body. Oh, but wait, you can't carry 2 knives and every motherfucker carries a knife so you'd better remember to drop the one you have as well has have inventory room before you loot and move the corpse. But now you just left a pile of shit in the middle of the floor while trying to be sneaky and hide bodies. Oh well, good thing I noticed partway through the game (dock with the submersible) that they're usually too stupid to even notice bodies out in the open anyway. I felt like I was in an amazingly immersive and realistic world for sure.

Forced bullshit like:
The fight in the plane that putting mines on the wall in the hallway to the meeting room give away the fact that Anna is a 'bad guy' as she will cause them to blow but not the guy you're meeting. The unwinnable fight with Gunther after emerging from the subway with insurmountable waist-height fences, a sewer grate in a shack you can open, but curiously not do down, and even if you load the stairwell with mines and shoot and grenade the hell out of Gunther, he cannot be damaged despite that killing any other enemy multiple times.
Superb and deep story? Did we play the same game? I gave up counting all of the cliches and silly conspiracy theories they used.

Anyway, posted again as I agree with this review and more.

Then follow up years later.

Anyway, I know Tom Chick and I are in the minority. But as I said, I have played the entire game now, so I am well informed in my hate as opposed to dismissing it after a 15 minute run.

Ah, Hobie is being attacked over his views on Deus Ex again.

Welcome back, Hobie! Hope your vacation went well!

Hobie's comments make me want to play the game and analyze it and while I'll try not to be conditioned by the time I write about it, it's very likely for me to share some of his views. I already criticized Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, which is one of those games commonly seen as "one of the best ever", gave it a B and called it unfinished so I'm not that surprised.

I didn't like the original Deus Ex enough to finish it. The gameplay had a lot of good ideas though. Poorly executed mind you. But good ideas.

The writing... well.

That said, Human Revolution is one of the best FPS games I've ever played. I'm even planning on getting the WiiU version just so I have an excuse to play it again. Can't wait for the fixed boss fights.

I know I don't want a PSP Go, but out of the thousands models, which do I want?
Go with a 3000. I've owned both a 1000, and now a 3000, and prefer the 3000 greatly. The ghosting on the 1000 was too much for me to handle (especially in Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness... blegh).

I wouldn't be so opposed to CFW however. It's nearly hassle-free to install, and is a great way to avoid UMD loading times if you use UMDumper and rip your legally owned UMD's directly onto your memory card*. I especially like doing this so I can carry multiple games on me at once, and can switch between them on the go without any hassle.

*I use a 32gb sandisk w/ a pro-duo converter (psp memory format) myself.
