Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Thanks a lot guys. It was her left arm; so, she can still write, color, paint, etc. She really is taking it very well, and we have an appointment with a local osteopath tomorrow morning to make sure everything is coming along well. (It is also amazing to me how quickly the little ones heal...from what I have read, there will be little to no evidence that the bones were ever broken at all!)
(Also - and in typical Metal Slug/SNK fashion - I spent as much time on the final boss in Metal Slug Advance as I did on the rest of the game combined.)

Yeah. Like most small children she prides herself on being "big" and "tough", and she certainly earned both of those titles this weekend.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Sorry to hear about your daughter prfsnl_gmr. She does sound pretty tough though, which is good. It'll be healed up before you know it.
Oh and nice job with the Metal Slug Advance... I still can't get through it - dat final boss.

It would interesting to see how many Racketeers can tie their shoelaces with one hand.

Thanks for that. I think I should have written "with a big-ass cast that her little shoulder muscles can't lift more than a few inches." Seriously...if she wants to move it on or off her ice pack, she has to lift it with her other arm.Luke wrote:Fixed.prfsnl_gmr wrote:She is has started showing off all of the things that she can "all by [her]self" with only one hand.

You should write Country Western music.

Yeah, that's the down side of being friendly and welcoming. You hear about some awful thing and think "that couldn't possibly happen here"...until it does.BoneSnapDeez wrote:My school lets way too many random people into the building. I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

That's not all that surprising. She's got years of growing ahead of her. After all that time, I'd be more surprised 10 years from now if an x-ray showed much more than just a little nick where the break occurred.prfsnl_gmr wrote: (It is also amazing to me how quickly the little ones heal...from what I have read, there will be little to no evidence that the bones were ever broken at all!)
Glad to hear she'd taking it so well. And you too, for that matter. I probably would have panicked and began plans for an extensive calcium supplement regimen until she turned 18.
